Summary:   This position is responsible for the maintenance and setup of all event related equipment/assets. Responsible for completing maintenance based upon schedules in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety and performance standards, and all government regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to supervise, & provide leadership when directing temporary workers
  • Assist manager in maintaining trailer equipment inventories
  • Prepare and submit log books and fuel logs for service vehicles
  • Maintenance of equipment to ensure equipment is in safe and working order in accordance with Health, Fire, Safety and Regulatory guidelines
  • Notify manager of concerns with any equipment
  • Direction and scheduling provided by from Fleet Operations/Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for set up of all event equipment
  • Work closely with manager and have daily discussion to report event progress
  • Assist with loading equipment on trailers 
  • Travel is required and long event hours
  • Ability to drive consistency, strategic and innovative initiatives

Qualifications/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. ( Jr. college, college and/or technical school graduate a plus ) or 1+ years’ experience in maintenance position or combination of both
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulations helpful
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.  CDL Class A very helpful
  • Experience in electric, plumbing, appliance repair a plus
  • Forklift certification needed.  We can train

Show Car Representative / Driver - Americrown Service Corporation (Daytona Beach, FL)


Americrown is the leader in motorsports catering and concessions.  Not only do we provide service in the food industry; but also have the distinct honor of managing the Show Car Program for Mobil 1.

Primary Duties include:

  • Transport show car and racing simulator to designated events throughout the US
  • Coordinate details with on -site contact for show events
  • Man Show Car Display, Operate Simulator, and Answer Race related questions.
  • Represent Race Team and sponsors in an appropriate manner
  • Coordinate with Logistics Manager daily on schedule, display information, and event preparation
  • Submit all Log Books, Expense Reports, Trip Reports and Invoices in a timely manner
  • Equipment detailing in 10 point condition at all times and overall mechanical and maintenance of truck, simulator, trailer and show car
  • Compliant with all CDL Regulations and Medical updates
  • Assist with additional programs and special events as required
  • Assist Logistics Manager with equipment maintenance

CDL License is preferred.

The driver will be on the road roughly 50,000 a miles a year and does approximately 300 shows a year.  These shows include hospitality events at racetracks, gas stations, Oil and Lube facilities, convention centers and many more. While not on the road, drivers are responsible to put shop time in at Michigan International Speedway located in Brooklyn MI.  Local candidates are strongly urged to apply.

SUMMARY: Performs skilled tasks in the diagnosis, mechanical repair, maintenance and calibration of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and control systems including electrical and plumbing and related mechanical equipment such as controls, pumps, motors, compressors, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks such as checking equipment operation, cleaning, lubrication, changing filters, adjusting and repairing HVAC equipment and controls, etc., consistent with the Manufacturer’s Equipment Operation and Repair Manuals and standards of good practice.

  • Responds to temperature complaints, diagnoses problems, identifies solution, and makes necessary adjustments to assure adequate indoor air quality is maintained.

  • Calibrate/adjust/repair/replace temperature, humidity and air equipment and control devices such as chillers, pumps, cooling towers, evaporative coolers, condensing units, fan coil units, air handlers, exhaust fans, thermostats, sensors, humidistats, relays, timers, electric (digital) controls, electronic controls, damper motors/dampers, switches, and other related control devices on commercial and multi-zone heating and cooling systems

  • Uses diagnostic equipment and line diagrams to trouble shoot problems and identify solutions.

  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals

  • Basic welding, brazing, and soldering as needed

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include car club racing, motorcycles, civic and social gatherings, and car shows.


Daytona International Speedway is seeking certified Fire Rescue professionals that will interact with our guests and professional racing team participants during racing events.

Essential Functions:
• Perform Fire and EMS response functions. Shifts range from 6-16 hours depending on event.
• Practice and maintain professional work ethic and appearance.

Required Certifications:
• Current State of Florida Fire I & II (Minimum Standards)
• Current State of Florida EMT Basic or Paramedic Certificate (National Registry will not be accepted)
• Current BLS CPR card (ASHI, American Red Cross and American Heart accepted)
• Current ACLS card (Paramedics) (ASHI, American Red Cross and American Heart accepted)
• EVOC or CEVO certificate
• PALS or PEPP cert preferred, but not required (Paramedics)

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Grad/GED

• Must successfully pass a driving record check.
• Must provide proof of active affiliation with a Florida Public Safety Agency.
• Must attend mandatory annual training.

Seasonal – Event Time Only Tram Ambassadors/Attendants - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500!  Since the conclusion of our massive renovation, Daytona International Speedway now gives our fans the only stadium experience in racing! With our upcoming Coke Zero 400 weekend of events we are currently looking for motivated and outgoing crew that will deliver the best experience in sports!

These positions are for the 2016 Race season here at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Please begin to apply now, those selected for interviews will be contacted in May 2016, and interviews will be conducted in late May and June.

EVENT TRAM AMBASSADOR rides on a tram to ensure guests remain seated while the tram is in motion. Assist guests as necessary and as directed by the tram plaza supervisors when loading and unloading trams at tram plazas. Ambassador alerts the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of guests or incidents jeopardizing fan safety, equipment malfunction or failure. Ambassador must make PA announcements and play the designated PA message for each segment. Additionally you may be assigned to work as a plaza attendant or gate guard.

Ambassadors and Attendants are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $8.35 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

General Description:

The primary function of the Facility Maintenance Technician is to maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities and equipment at Kansas Speedway.  This position involves event weekend and occasional extended weekday hours as needed.  The Facility Manager or speedway management may assign additional duties and/or responsibilities.

  • Addresses all electrical needs at track level, including,  but not limited to, installations and repairs;

  • Operates equipment as directed to assure goals and objectives of PIR track facility are being met;

  • Maintains public address system, TV and cable systems and all electrical-related items that are imperative for the ongoing operation of the track, including, but not limited to, major events;

  • Communicate with PIR staff members (administrative and track) to assure that all department needs are being met in this respective area, with a special emphasis on pre-event planning;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measures

Ongoing dialogue and interaction with Operations Manager and senior management to assure that the electrical foundation for the facility is in top operating capacity and a download after each event and a year-end review to assure that the goals and objectives are being met.

Qualifications

As a licensed electrician, must have hands-on experience in repair and installation with the ability to coordinate a variety of projects and communicate needs to outside sources.

Work Requirements

Availability on preceding weeks and weekends leading up to event and during all event hours of operation, as well as the immediate weeks following event.

Special Position Requirements

Must have the physical stamina, the skill set and the intellectual ability to perform in an oftentimes demanding position.

Position may require travel as requested.

Event Ticketing Staff - Talladega Superspeedway (Talladega, AL)







POSITION SUMMARY
Talladega Superspeedway has openings for part-time Event Ticketing Staff for NASCAR and other publicly ticketed events throughout the year. This is a temporary position working on-site at Talladega Superspeedway assisting with event ticketing. Event Ticketing Staff are often the first representatives to greet fans and must provide exceptional customer service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a staff member working in one of our ticket box offices, providing exceptional customer service to all event patrons. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Selling tickets to all walk-up customers utilizing the Fantracker ticketing software
    • Printing & distributing tickets to customers who have selected Will Call
    • Handling camping registration and check-in
    • Process multiple forms of payment, including cash and credit card
  • Develop a working knowledge of Talladega Superspeedway pricing, policies, procedures and general event information. As the first line for guest questions, Event Ticketing Staff must be able to answer questions or direct guests in the proper direction.
  • Assist with other duties assigned by Ticket Supervisors or the Director of Ticketing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attention to detail and ability to provide a high level of customer service is required
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high energy environment
  • Event staffing or ticket sales experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience using computer software programs preferred
  • Flexible schedule during the event
  • Ability to attend training session(s) prior to the event
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation to and from Talladega Superspeedway


OTHER INFO
This is a part time, hourly position working only during major event weekends. Some shifts may begin as early as 7:00am; exact hours to be determined.

Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations - Watkins Glen International (Watkins Glen, NY)

General Job Description

As a successful Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations, your main responsibility is to assist in providing general maintenance and upkeep of facility and grounds, under the direct supervision of the Director of Track Operations, Director of Event Operations and Vice President of Facilities and Operations, in an effort to keep it in paramount conditions.

As our Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations, you will:

  • Oversight and coordinate workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, paint and other building systems.

  • Responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed.

  • Prepare work details and contractor oversight for capital improvement construction projects.

  • Work hand in hand with Vice President of Facilities and Operations to prepare maintenance budgets and spend within those approved budgets.

  • Hire workers, organize schedules and assign daily work activity. 

  • Perform training to ensure individuals have all requisite skills.

  • Work with Security Manager to ensure that WGI / ISC assets (tools, equipment, etc) are being properly accounted for.

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures on equipment in order to keep it in the best condition possible.

  • Manage Projects including both capital improvement and in-house projects.

  • Maintain personnel records and assist in annual performance reviews.

  • Assist in overseeing and scheduling of Event Staff and Stand-By Service Vendors.

Qualifications:

We require:

  • High School Diploma plus at least two years’ experience (or equivalent training) in general maintenance, with knowledge in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, mechanics and general building repairs.

  • Experience in working in a similar atmosphere (stadium, racetrack or other fast-paced entertainment venue)

  • Some experience operating heavy equipment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • High degree of initiative and know-how to organize/prioritize, and ability to see projects through to completion.

  • Ability to be held accountable, following through on commitments, producing timely work to required standards, and pitching in to complete task

  • Good computer skills, including MS Office

  • Price of workmanship, strong communication skills; excellent service attitude

  • Basic knowledge of building codes, construction practices, OSHA requirements and paving / concrete maintenance / upkeep

Special Physical Requirements of the Job/Working Conditions:

  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires – this person is often the first one in to start the day and the last to leave at the end of the day.

  • Ability to lift 50# or more.

  • Routine exposure to extreme heat/cold and loud noise conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work on various lift/platforms at various heights and in confined spaces.
