Ticket Operations Event Staff- Seasonal - Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, IL)

Position Purpose

The Ticket Operations Event Staff will gain valuable experience and knowledge of the inner workings of the sports and motorsports industries, while supporting the event operations process at Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a staff member working on-site during our 30+ events throughout the season, providing exceptional customer service to all event patrons. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Selling tickets to all walk-up customers utilizing the Fantracker ticketing software
    • Printing & distributing tickets to customers who have selected Will Call
    • Handling camping registration and check-in throughout major event weekends
    • Answering questions and providing basic event information
  • Assist with other duties assigned by the Ticket Operations Manager or the Director of Ticketing

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills are required
  • Comfort to work in a fast paced and high energy environment.  Prior sales or box office experience preferred
  • The ability to respond quickly, calmly, and professionally to event-related problems and emergencies
  • Enthusiastic about learning about the sports industry
  • High school or equivalent education required, pursuing a college degree preferred

Work Requirements

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Wssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in coordination with facility leadership to create and manage the event schedule, focusing on the continued development of current events, and identifying, negotiating and securing future event opportunities.
  • Coordinate all on-site activities with sanctioning bodies and third party vendors including event operations, credentials, equipment credentials, vehicle passes and any other approval process for granting access to controlled areas, in coordination with Route 66 Event Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate, manage and evaluate participant parking process and procedures, implementing in-house staffing  based on specific event needs.
  • Create, implement and manage a season-ending evaluation of day-to-day operations of Route 66 Raceway.
  • Manage daily updates to Racer Hotline.
  • Review applications, interview and hire event staff, assign and direct work, evaluate performance, and address and resolve all staff issues.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate all training materials for Drag Staff operations.
  • Serve as an active member of the Chicagoland Speedway/Route 66 Raceway Event Planning Team, which is responsible for event preparation and evaluation during the race season, and the development, evaluation and adjustment of current policies, procedures and management of event operations to enhance guest experience.
  • Implement and maintain a real-time budget tracking process to improve accrual and forecasting, as well as controlling costs through more efficient planning and procedures.
  • Follow the concepts of the R.O.A.D.M.A.P. philosophy, and serve as a leader and set an example for all team members to follow.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of the sport of drag racing.
  • Strong working knowledge of NHRA Rules and Regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3-5 years of work experience in the motorsports management, or + 5 years drag racing experience..
  • Experience with accounts payable, payroll processing, financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment interacting with multiple departments.
  • Must be well organized with attention to detail.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.

Admissions Fan Crew - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, Fl)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Through the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners the largest audience in motorsports. The enormous 480 acre motorsports complex is in the middle of a massive $400 million renovation called DAYTONA Rising. Once DAYTONA Rising is complete in January 2016 it will be host to the only Stadium Experience in racing. Daytona International Speedway is currently looking for motivated and outgoing crew that will deliver the best experience in motorsports!

Admission Fan Crew:
The role of an Admission Fan Crew member is a multi-function position. Crew members will work at Admission Gates, Tunnels, or the Infield Campgrounds depending on qualifications and interest.

Admission Fan Crew is a 24-Hour operation. Overnight shifts come with an overnight pay differential. Please inquire if interested.

Admission Fan Crew working at the Admission Gates will be responsible for the following:

  • Checking each Guest’s bag for items that are permitted or prohibited from entrance into the facility.
  • Checking each Guests Ticket or Credential for valid access into the facility.
  • Checking vehicles for valid access into the facility at corresponding vehicle entry points.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admission Fan Crew working at the Tunnels will be responsible for the following:

  • Checking each vehicle for valid access into the infield.
  • Checking each RV for any items that are prohibited from entrance into the infield campgrounds.
  • Checking each Person’s Ticket or Credential for valid access into the infield.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admission Fan Crew working in the Infield Campgrounds will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting each Camper into their appropriate space.
  • Checking each Guest for valid access into each campground.
  • Assisting Guests with any campground issues.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admissions Fan Crew is a seasonal/temporary event based position. However, this position will require non-event day shifts. Shifts and hours will vary depending on event needs.

Shift length: 8-12 hours depending on specific event needs

The Admission Fan Crew position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of activities at Daytona International Speedway and its ability to deliver consistently high quality service to every Guest.

The Hospitality Team at the Daytona International Speedway is currently looking for event/temporary hospitality team members to work all areas of hospitality during our upcoming events in July 2015. EVENT TRAM DRIVER is responsible for driving trucks and/or tractors that pull trams on an assigned route. Additionally a driver may be assigned as a van or bus driver for a designated route. All drivers must have a valid Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger endorsement with current physical. Drivers must pass a Motor Vehicle Report before being considered.

Tram Drivers are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $10.00 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

  • Must possess a Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger Endorsement

EVENT TRAM AMBASSADOR rides on a tram to ensure guests remain seated while the tram is in motion. Assist guests as necessary and as directed by the tram plaza supervisors when loading and unloading trams at tram plazas. Ambassador alerts the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of guests or incidents jeopardizing fan safety, equipment malfunction or failure. Ambassador must make PA announcements and play the designated PA message for each segment. Additionally you may be assigned to work as a plaza attendant.

Ambassadors and Attendants are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $8.15 an hour.

If you are part of a Non-Profit group and you are looking for a new way to raise funds, Daytona International Speedway has the answer for you!

We are currently seeking new groups to participate within the Tram Operations Department of Guest Services at Daytona International Speedway. We are currently looking for groups to fill a variety of positions such as Tram Ambassadors, Tram Stop Attendants, and anyone with a CDL with Passenger Endorsement for Tram/Bus Drivers. These are all great opportunities for your group to maximize profits and be a part of the action. DIS will provide your group a fun, fast-paced, and exciting environment to reach your fund raising goals!

Job Responsibilities:
      ·   SAFELY assist with the transportation of guests within the DIS venue.
      ·   Greet all guests with a smile and engage them accordingly.
      ·   Assist guests with the boarding and unloading process.
      ·   Possess some knowledge of facilities and overall property layout.
      ·   Answer questions about various DIS tram routes and event day happening.
      ·   Inspect overall safety, appearance, and cleanliness of all vehicles/Loading Areas and report any issues 
          to your group supervisor.
      ·   Handle special requests as assigned by your group supervisor.
      ·   Drive tram/shuttle bus routes. (Only for those that possess a CDL with Passenger Endorsement)

Listed below are the answers to a few of our most commonly asked questions. This information will give you an overview of our program and what you need to know to get your organization involved in the events at Daytona International Speedway.

What does my group need to get started?

Fantastic, committed, hardworking volunteers who are at least 18 years of age, 21 to drive a Tram/Bus.  Certification that the organization is a non- profit, tax exempt organization as defined in Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Lastly, a designated group leader, in charge of the entire group.

What positions will my group be able to volunteer for? How much can my group earn?

Your group has an opportunity to volunteer as Tram Ambassadors, Tram Stop Attendants, and anyone with a CDL with Passenger Endorsement for Tram/Bus Drivers. Pay is determined by the number your group is able to provide.

Do you provide training?

YES! Unfortunately though at this time we will only be able to take groups that can make prior on-site trainings at Daytona International Speedway. If group members do not complete the training, they are unable to work.

POSITION SUMMARY
Talladega Superspeedway has openings for part-time Ticket Sales & Will Call Representatives during its NASCAR event weekend May 1-3. This is a temporary position working on-site at Talladega Superspeedway under the supervision of the Ticket Operations Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a staff member working in one of our on-site Ticket Booths, providing exceptional customer service to all event patrons. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Selling tickets to all walk-up customers utilizing the Fantracker ticketing software
