Essential Functions:

  • Placing and moving trailers for the various Food and Beverage and Merchandise Departments
  • Able to maneuver in tight places

Required Qualifications:

Guest Services Event Staff - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

 

 

 

 

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Admissions Staff work the entrance points of the Daytona International Speedway during publicly ticketed events. Admission roles include verifying proper tickets and credentials for both entry and reentry, enforcing Speedway fan safety policies, and assisting guests with race day information and guidance. Locations for Admissions Staff are varied and include Grandstand entrance plazas, Hospitality areas, tunnels, RV areas and the Sprint FANZONE. Shifts range from 7 – 13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Disabled Assistance Transportation Staff will provide assistance to guests with disabilities by transporting them from parking areas to entrance points via golf cart or tram. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. A valid Driver’s license is required to work for Disabled Assistance Transportation. Shifts range from 10-15 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Information Ambassadors will staff Information Booths at the Daytona International Speedway during events. Information Services staff interact with guests providing race day information and guidance about Speedway schedules, locations, policies and services. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. Shifts range from 10-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Ticket Sellers are responsible for event day ticket sales for Daytona International Speedway events. Sellers work in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations including ticket offices, gates, vehicle entrance points and Sprint FANZONE to sell the appropriate ticket to our guests. Shifts range from 7-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $8/hr

Tram Ambassadors ride along on our trams to insure our passengers remain seated while the tram is in motion. They also assist passengers as necessary and as directed by the supervisor when loading/unloading trams in the tram plazas. Ambassadors alert the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of passengers, incidents jeopardizing fan safety, and equipment malfunction or failure. Additionally, you may also work as a plaza attendant at Tram Plazas, assisting in the loading and unloading of passengers. Shifts range from 10-16 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Tram Drivers are responsible for driving the trucks & tractors that pull the trams on an assigned route. Additionally, you may be assigned as a van or bus driver for an assigned route. To be eligible, you must have a valid Florida CDL with a passenger endorsement. Shifts range from 8 – 13 hours in length.

Usher Staff will work in the seating areas of the Daytona International Speedway during select publicly ticketed events. Ushers must be highly pro-active and outgoing. Ushers are responsible for assisting guests to locate and verify seating locations, enforcing Speedway safety policies, and providing race day information and guidance to guests. Ushers will also be asked to perform daily preparation of their assigned seating areas including drying seats and reporting any required repairs. Shifts range from 7 – 12 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

• Cash handling and computer experience (for ticket seller positions)
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time

This position involves the servicing and maintaining of all vehicles, equipment, generators, pumps, etc. This position involves event weekend and occasional extended weekday hours as needed. The head Mechanic, Facility Superintendent or speedway management may assign additional duties and/or responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in servicing and maintaining various, vehicles, equipment, etc.
  • Assist with inventory and supply orders
  • Assist with vehicle and equipment record keeping
  • Fabricate and repair equipment using various hand tools, power tools, testing tools, welding equipment, etc.
  • Run and check all generators and pumps as needed

Education/Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or, three to six months related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to, write routine reports and/or correspondence

General Description:

The primary function of the Facility Maintenance Worker is to maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities at Kansas Speedway. This position involves event weekend and occasional extended weekday hours as needed. The Facility Superintendent or speedway management may assign additional duties and/or responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facility appearance and cleanliness
  • Assist or maintain janitorial duties in a supporting role with contracted service company
  • Maintain janitorial supplies in storage areas and closets
  • Learn to operate various types of equipment
  • Learn various maintenance and repair techniques
  • Assist with small construction and renovation projects
  • Help maintain equipment
  • Assist other department employees, when called upon by management
  • During race event weeks duties will be: Receiving and Shipping Clerk at Maintenance Facility and provide presence at Operations Facility

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or, one to three months related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Must know how to operate various types of equipment
  • Strong organizational skills and efficient and detail-oriented time manager
  • Experience and knowledge of motorsports industry a plus
  • Must be able to handle the stress of dealing with the occasional disgruntled/demanding guest
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Position Purpose
This position will support the 50th Anniversary show car program by transporting the show car to and from appearance destinations. This is a temporary seasonal position and hours will very dependent on the appearance schedule and will begin January 2014.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
• Responsible for the loading/unloading of the show car into the trailer and to/from appearance locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of show car, trailer, and truck. Ensure display is clean and acceptable for public presentation.
• Utilize the utmost of care in handling of the show car, truck, and trailer.
• Deliver and set up show car promptly and on time.
• Examines show car, trailer, and truck on an ongoing basis to determine operating status and report any issues to Operations Manager.
• Conform to and obey all traffic regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Timeliness of delivery and schedule.
• Presentation of show car, trailer, and vehicle.
• Compliance with safety regulations/procedures.

• Current Class A CDL driver’s license
