Position Purpose

The Ticket Operations Event Staff will gain valuable experience and knowledge of the inner workings of the sports and motorsports industries, while supporting the event operations process at Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a staff member working on-site during our 30+ events throughout the season, providing exceptional customer service to all event patrons. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Selling tickets to all walk-up customers utilizing the Fantracker ticketing software
    • Printing & distributing tickets to customers who have selected Will Call
    • Handling camping registration and check-in throughout major event weekends
    • Answering questions and providing basic event information
  • Assist with other duties assigned by the Ticket Operations Manager or the Director of Ticketing

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills are required
  • Comfort to work in a fast paced and high energy environment.  Prior sales or box office experience preferred
  • The ability to respond quickly, calmly, and professionally to event-related problems and emergencies
  • Enthusiastic about learning about the sports industry
  • High school or equivalent education required, pursuing a college degree preferred

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Wssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in coordination with facility leadership to create and manage the event schedule, focusing on the continued development of current events, and identifying, negotiating and securing future event opportunities.
  • Coordinate all on-site activities with sanctioning bodies and third party vendors including event operations, credentials, equipment credentials, vehicle passes and any other approval process for granting access to controlled areas, in coordination with Route 66 Event Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate, manage and evaluate participant parking process and procedures, implementing in-house staffing  based on specific event needs.
  • Create, implement and manage a season-ending evaluation of day-to-day operations of Route 66 Raceway.
  • Manage daily updates to Racer Hotline.
  • Review applications, interview and hire event staff, assign and direct work, evaluate performance, and address and resolve all staff issues.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate all training materials for Drag Staff operations.
  • Serve as an active member of the Chicagoland Speedway/Route 66 Raceway Event Planning Team, which is responsible for event preparation and evaluation during the race season, and the development, evaluation and adjustment of current policies, procedures and management of event operations to enhance guest experience.
  • Implement and maintain a real-time budget tracking process to improve accrual and forecasting, as well as controlling costs through more efficient planning and procedures.
  • Follow the concepts of the R.O.A.D.M.A.P. philosophy, and serve as a leader and set an example for all team members to follow.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of the sport of drag racing.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3-5 years of work experience in the motorsports management, or + 5 years drag racing experience..
  • Experience with accounts payable, payroll processing, financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment interacting with multiple departments.
  • Must be well organized with attention to detail.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.

Summary

Daytona International Speedway is seeking a Manager of Credentials at the “World Center of Racing,” which hosts events including Speedweeks highlighted by the DAYTONA 500 and the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola in July and motorcycle events including the Daytona Supercross By Honda and Daytona 200.

Essential Duties/Functions

  • Process and arrange credentials for media, sponsors, employees and guests for Daytona International Speedway events.
  • Coordinate printing of all credential materials for events including credentials, stickers and parking passes.
  • Generate, approve and post credential application forms for both media and employees for all events.
  • Coordinate with various sanctioning bodies (including, but not limited to: ARCA, ASRA, CCS, IMSA, NASCAR and Red Bull Global Rallycross) on credential and parking pass needs prior to events
  • Maintain lists of credentialed media for all events and distribute to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Oversee, manage and direct the staff in the credential office, keeping a keen focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee the logging and tracking of credentials in the TAMS computer credential system
  • Thoroughly research and approve media credential requests
  • Following events, request and secure proof of coverage from credentialed media outlets
  • Work closely with Guest Services and Security teams to develop and execute access policy for the new motorsports stadium.
  • Serving as primary clearing house for Daytona International Speedway licensing needs, working closely with the Public Relations and Marketing teams on licensing agreements and liaising with official photography and video footage licensors as requests are received.

Tram Maintenance Support- Seasonal- Event Time Only - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500! The season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners the largest audience in motorsports. The enormous 480 acre motorsports complex is in the middle of a massive $400 million renovation called Daytona Rising. Once Daytona Rising is complete in January 2016, it will be host to the only Stadium Experience in racing! Daytona International Speedway is currently looking for motivated and outgoing team members that will deliver the best experience in motorsports!

EVENT TRAM MAINTENANCE SUPPORT is responsible for supporting all needs of the event tram operations team. Tasks include: small motor maintenance, changing or plugging tires, other motor vehicle maintenance, as well as other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager. All support team members must have a valid Class A CDL with Passenger endorsement with current physical. Drivers must pass a Motor Vehicle Report before being considered.

The Maintenance Support teams are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range anywhere from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $10.00 an hour. We are currently looking for an individual that is or will be available to work varying shifts during weekdays prior to events and set schedules on race weekends.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:
 

  • Must possess a Class A CDL with Passenger Endorsement
  • 12 Volt Electrical System Experience
  • Strong mechanical skills, with general automotive knowledge
  • Familiar with Small Engine Repair
  • Must be able to work Daytona 500 day, as well as other assigned events
  • Fast learner and the ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods

Admission Fan Crew:
The role of an Admission Fan Crew member is a multi-function position. Crew members will work at Admission Gates, Tunnels, or the Infield Campgrounds depending on qualifications and interest.

Admission Fan Crew is a 24-Hour operation. Overnight shifts come with an overnight pay differential. Please inquire if interested.

Admission Fan Crew working at the Admission Gates will be responsible for the following:

  • Checking each Guest’s bag for items that are permitted or prohibited from entrance into the facility.
  • Checking each Guests Ticket or Credential for valid access into the facility.
  • Checking vehicles for valid access into the facility at corresponding vehicle entry points.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admission Fan Crew working at the Tunnels will be responsible for the following:

  • Checking each vehicle for valid access into the infield.
  • Checking each RV for any items that are prohibited from entrance into the infield campgrounds.
  • Checking each Person’s Ticket or Credential for valid access into the infield.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admission Fan Crew working in the Infield Campgrounds will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting each Camper into their appropriate space.
  • Checking each Guest for valid access into each campground.
  • Assisting Guests with any campground issues.
  • All other duties assigned.

Admissions Fan Crew is a seasonal/temporary event based position. However, this position will require non-event day shifts. Shifts and hours will vary depending on event needs.

Shift length: 8-12 hours depending on specific event needs

The Admission Fan Crew position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of activities at Daytona International Speedway and its ability to deliver consistently high quality service to every Guest.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is looking for a talented professional to join our Operations Department in the position of Manager, Track Rentals & Guest Services based in Homestead, Florida. The Manager, Track Rentals & Guest Services will provide administrative and business support by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

TRACK RENTAL:
     •     Main point of contact for track rental customers
     •     Prepare and process track usage and facility agreements
     •     Coordinate with accounting to ensure track rentals fees are paid prior to rentals
     •     Work directly with CertFocus to ensure certificates of insurance are received and approved

Qualifications include the following:

The successful candidate will be creative, a self-starter, highly motivated, organized and a team player with attention to detail and demonstrate ability to multi-task.   • Operates equipment as needed, including, but not limited to, bulldozer, track sweeper;

Performance Measures
Ongoing dialogue and interaction with Operations Manager to assure that the goals and objectives of the facility are being met; a year-end review will determine where success is accomplished and/or where improvements are needed.


Qualifications
A strong background and hands-on experience as a vehicle mechanic with the ability to adapt to other facility personnel needs.

Work Requirements
Availability on preceding weeks and weekends leading up to event and during all event hours of operation, as well as the immediate weeks following event.

Special Position Requirements
Ability to withstand physical challenges of mechanic’s areas of responsibility.  Travel may be required as requested.

Manager of Guest Services - Talladega Superspeedway (Talladega, AL)

General Description:

The Manager of Guest Services has the responsibility of overseeing and supervising all aspects of Gate Operations and Guest Services (fan information stations, ushers, ADA carts, trams, entrance plaza gates, vehicle gates and daily questions via the track website), and in assisting the Director with Track/Facility Rentals. The manager works closely with operations, ticketing, consumer marketing, business development, and administrative departments to achieve company goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively handle and assist guest communication issues and concerns by becoming immersed in ticketing, camping, public safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain a working relationship with all departments to achieve the track and company goals including participation in business development and ticketing meetings.
  • Coordinate Fan Advisory Network (TSSFAN) activities.
  • Continue development of Rookie 101 engagement area for NASCAR event weekends with a focused effort on improving the first time fan experience.
  • Supervise the hiring of event time staff for gate operations, ushers and guest services.
  • Provide guest services training to full-time and event time staff including the development of protocol for how to handle complaints.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of Ticket Scanning at entry gates, including generating post-event scan data reports for track management.
  • Assist with development of collateral materials for employees and guests including handbook.
  • Assist with all infield campground operations and guideline development.
  • Proactively sell track dates to potential corporate and civic groups locally and nationally.
  • Assist director with overseeing and coordinating track and facility usage agreements. Work closely with operations/emergency services on track and facility rentals during scheduled rentals.
  • Facilitate event operations of weekday and weekend track/facility rentals by those groups other than stock car driving schools.
  • Maintain and catalogue all track rentals, service groups and service company documentation including agreements and certificates of insurance to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate ISS 24/7 Systems for event weekends.
  • Prepare for upcoming event operational needs including daily assignments necessary to execute NASCAR event weekends and track rentals
  • Scan credentials, vehicle passes, etc. and make credential boards for all events.
  • Ability to travel when needed to other ISC facilities for personal career development, track needs, and managerial meetings.
  • Other duties and tasks as directed.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  •  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Oversee gate operations, ushers and guest services staff and additional areas as needed.
  • Responsible for departmental budget review and providing suggestions to the Director of Administration and Guest Services.

 Qualifications
