Manager, Multicultural Marketing & Sales - Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, CA)

The Manager, Multicultural Marketing & Sales position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the speedway’s multicultural marketing strategy.   In addition, they will lead the efforts on all ticket sales and promotional activations geared at this segment.  This position is part of a cross-functional team, working closely with consumer marketing and ticketing departments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inbound/outbound call campaigns geared at renewals, on-sale, and group sales.

  • Work closely with ticketing department on ticket sales campaigns and strategies.

  • Develop new ticket sales opportunities by identifying specific segments/groups.

  • Lead and identify ticket sales opportunities within the college segment.

  • Implement multicultural strategy geared at the Hispanic and Asian consumer markets.

  • Work closely with consumer marketing team to implement and maintain promotional activations

  • Manage all Spanish language social media efforts across all platforms

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and provide any necessary improvements to ensure continued growth and success.

  • Maintain and update Spanish language website and email campaigns

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 1-2 years of ticket sales/marketing experience; preferably in sports/entertainment.

  • Experience in maintaining and meeting sales oriented goals including meeting strict deadlines.

  • Experience in maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.

  • Ability to handle multiple inbound/outbound calls on a daily basis.

  • Proven ability to coordinate promotional activities and teams.

  • Strong teamwork and project management skills.

  • Must be organized and motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of digital platforms (social media, basic web development)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Four-year Bachelors degree

Manager of Ticketing - Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, CA)

Job Summary:

The Manager of Ticketing will be responsible for the oversight, management and accountability of ticket operations and functions pertaining to the operation of the Ticket Office. Candidate must be detail-oriented, motivated and organized with the ability to efficiently manage ticket operations, including the fulfillment of ticket orders and requests, the management of the ticket sales system, the operation of the Ticket Office and event box offices, the monitoring of and processing of reports, and the application of payments. In addition, this person will manage year-round ticketing staff and box office staff on event days. This person will report to the Director of Ticketing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of ticket operations department including the box office and day of event ticket operations
  • Process ticket orders including individual tickets, groups and Corporate Sales
  • Oversee all ticket office functions: sales, staffing, cash handling, deposits, etc. 
  • Become competent with the ticket system; build events on the system, build ticket accounts, prepare reports, and manage cash payments
  • Maintain and manage all hard ticket inventory
  • Prepare and maintain files and reports on each event that consists of ticket sales, comp tickets and overall event audits
  • Reconcile daily cash and credit card sales 
  • Control budgeted expenses for areas of responsibility
  • Interact and provide customers with answers to questions and resolve ticketing issues
  • Assist in resolving any ticket related concerns
  • Train, orient, manage and lead box office event day staff on how to service ticket accounts along with providing unsurpassed customer service to all fans
  • Other duties as required
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Some travel required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years ticket sales box office experience required
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of various ticketing systems a plus

Hospitality Services Seasonal Coordinator - Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, IL)






Hospitality Services Seasonal Coordinator (May 2017 – September 2017) - Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, IL)

The Hospitality Services Seasonal Coordinator will work closely between the Partnership Sales team and Partnership Marketing team throughout the 2017 season. The coordinator will gain valuable experience and knowledge about hospitality services, live events and the motorsports industry while supporting the team with all efforts on multiple platforms. Activities will include all planning aspects of hospitality fulfillment of the events, manage event staff and third party vendors. The individual must be readily available to work long hours and possible weekends.

Note: This is a wage seasonal position. Candidates are responsible for their own housing and associated expenses for the duration of the season. Season runs May 1 through September 22, 2017. Must be able to work the following event days:

  • LODRS/Burndown, June 2nd – 4th
  • NHRA, July 6th – 9th
  • NMRA/NMCA, July 27th – 30th
  • Classic, August 19th
  • ARCA and NASCAR events September 14th – 17th

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage/Fulfill all sold Hospitality Programs within the company.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the company’s corporate hospitality clients.
  • Manage all day of event hospitality areas, staff and service vendors.
  • Serve as point of contact/information source for exclusive food and beverage contractor and third-party caterers.
  • Assist the HS and PM teams with all day-to-day duties and responsibilities
  • Work directly with HS and PM teams on daily management tasks for key accounts

  • Support the department with collecting all data and writing post-event recap reports for sponsors

Qualifications

  • Senior or graduate-level students or recent college graduates
  • Hospitality Services, Hotel/Event Management, or related business majors preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • The ability to respond quickly, calmly and professionally to event-related problems and emergencies
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours a week (maximum of 40 hours) during non-event time and extended hours during the time leading up to and through Major Events at Route 66 Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway

  • Assist with Special Projects as needed

  • Manage details of client activation including inventory layouts

  • Manage reporting from database system

  • Work closely with multiple departments within organization including Ticketing, Accounting, Legal, Operations, Security, and Guest Services

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year college degree preferably in Sports Management and/or Business

  • Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn sales systems and databases

  • Highly self motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment

Summary Description:

Account Executive- Hospitality Sales - Kansas Speedway (Kansas City, KS)

General Description:           

The Account Executive reports to the Sr. Manager of Corporate Marketing to fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed below.  This position will work with all members of the Sales and Marketing team and involves weekend and occasional extended weekday hours as needed.  Frequent local travel is expected, and occasional out-of-town travel may be required.   The Sr. Manager of Corporate Marketing or speedway management may assign additional duties and/or responsibilities.

Goals and Objectives:

The Account Executive is responsible for maintaining and growing a pipeline of qualified leads, cultivating relationships, and closing hospitality sales to generate revenue for the company.  Success shall be measured by reaching or exceeding sales and prospecting targets assigned by the Director of Corporate Sales and Business Development.     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate new hospitality revenue, with the core responsibility of selling open suite and chalet inventory at Kansas Speedway.  Actively seek out opportunities with local, regional and national prospects.
  • Grow a pipeline of qualified leads through aggressive outbound sales efforts (primarily cold calling), documenting daily progress in a customized CRM system.
  • Identify business opportunities by establishing professional networks and proactively following up on any and all sales leads.  Work with race teams, sponsors, agencies and other stakeholders that are investing in hospitality assets within the motorsports industry. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape, both inside and outside of motorsports, and build the relationships necessary to convert local/regional companies spending hospitality/entertainment dollars with competitors.
  • Grow current hospitality accounts, and work closely with the ticketing department to identify upselling opportunities with medium to large sized ticket groups.
  • Overcome pricing objections and offer a solutions-based approach to closing sales.
  • Serve as the team’s corporate hospitality lead.  Manage/organize all suite and chalet assets.  Work with the ISC Creative team to design hospitality sales collateral, client handbooks, and other hospitality-related materials. Work with Americrown and the sales team’s account managers to streamline catering menu distribution and order placement.  
  • Assist in the development of hospitality product enhancements designed to broaden the appeal of Kansas Speedway’s offerings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and post-sale support to clients.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, cost calculations, proposals and hospitality contracts.

Vice President of Sales - Michigan International Speedway (Brooklyn, MI)

Summary

 

The Vice President of Sales at Michigan International Speedway is responsible for all aspects of revenue generation for the facility and reports directly to the president. This person must be an energetic strategically-minded individual who can inspire others and communicate a vision of success that drives revenue and maximizes the guest experience.  This role must also collaborate with the Director of Accounting and the Vice President of Operations to identify overall strategy for the organization.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, implement and guide vision and strategy surrounding all aspects of ticket and corporate sales.

  • Lead the sales team in the selling of full menu corporate partnership assets, including but not limited to sponsorships, displays, signage, print and electronic assets and corporate hospitality for all MIS promoted events.

  • Lead sales team in identifying local strategic retail partners that can elevate and enhance the visibility of events held at the track each year.

  • Participate in all aspects of marketing and sales for Michigan International Speedway including developing, planning, and executing comprehensive public relations, advertising, promotions and sales plan aimed at the renewal of existing business, procurement of new business and the development of new revenue streams.

  • Assist the president with long-range objectives of the facility.  Develop partnerships and positioning programs aimed at increasing individual and corporate sales opportunities.

  • Ensure that all departments are working together effectively on a daily basis in a collaborative way toward a common goal that is aligned with long-term strategy.

  • Guide and direct Michigan International Speedway’s capital strategy as it relates to ticket and corporate sales.

  • Guide and direct Michigan International Speedway’s master plan strategy as it relates ticket and corporate sales.

  • Guide and direct all aspects of Michigan International Speedway’s strategic plan as it relates to ticket and corporate sales on an annual basis.

  • Collaborate with sanctioning bodies to align business strategies for the mutual benefit of all parties.

  • Collaborate with internal partners (Americrown, Marketing Services, etc.) to maximize opportunities to drive revenue and/or efficiencies. 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Provide daily leadership and guidance to the staff in ticket and corporate sales. Duties include, but are not limited to goal setting, performance management, vacation schedules, budgetary updates and conflict resolution.

  • Develop and manage the execution of an annual sales plan to achieve budget goals for Michigan International Speedway.  Such plans shall include all ticket and corporate sales programs aimed at the renewal of existing business, procurement of new business.

  • Annually prepare and submit revenue and expense budget for the ticketing and corporate sales budgets.  Work to lower expenses, improve efficiencies and grow margins within the ticketing and corporate sales budgets without sacrificing the guest experience or customer service.

  • Provide year ‘round monitoring and control of revenue and expenses.  Work to improve efficiencies within each department.

  • Manage the overall sales process for tickets and corporate sales.

  • Participate in the implementation of branding strategies designed for the integration into all areas of marketing with the goals of elevating events and brand equity.

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

This position has supervisory responsibility for all aspects of revenue generation for the facility including but not limited to corporate and ticket sales.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior-level sales management with ability to motivate team.

  • Proven success in leading a ticketing sales organization in the sports industry and meeting or exceeding sales goals.

  • Track record of successful high level corporate sales in professional sports or a related field.

  • Very strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Ticket Sales Account Executive will be responsible for generating new revenue through the sale of tickets, camping and event weekend upgrades to individual consumers and groups, in addition to managing existing accounts. This position will deliver an enhanced fan experience by building relationships with fans and providing excellent service. Additionally, the Account Executive will be responsible for representing Talladega Superspeedway at events throughout the region. The ideal candidate will be an aggressive self-starter with a passion for sales in order to proactively engage prospects through outbound calls, face to face appointments and at-track meetings.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively promote and sell tickets, camping packages, and upgrades for NASCAR weekends and other events at Talladega Superspeedway to Renewal Accounts and New Customers.

  • Generate sales through outbound telephone calls (75+ daily), outside appointments and other communication methods

  • Develop referrals and leads through networking, cold calling, prospecting and other techniques

  • Retain and maximize critical portfolio of Talladega clients, including an assigned segment of core business

  • Maintain and produce accurate reports regarding sales, appointments, and prospecting calls

  • Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required

  • Work and perform assigned responsibilities during event weeks at a high level

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible for the sale of Spring & Fall Race Tickets with a focus on: New Business and Groups

  • Responsible for making a high level of cold calls (75+ calls per day) to generate new ticket revenue for Talladega Superspeedway

  • Make calls to past customers, cold call new leads from database generation and qualified business leads, and handle some incoming calls

  • Provide customers with superior service in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Maintain accurate and timely sales data to effectively communicate to executive team

  • Participate and contribute to weekly sales team meetings and training sessions.

  • Responsible for assisting in the renewal and maintenance of all accounts

  • Will be required to work outside events including promotional functions, race week responsibilities, and weekends
