Temporary Customer Care Specialist - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
 

Job Summary:

Duties include interacting with customers in a professional and sales oriented manner, performing clerical/order entry work requiring application of various work methods and procedures, and familiarity with departmental functions, policies, and practices. Provide for customer service, product upsell and order processing via telephone, mail, and walk-ups. Directly reports to Associate Sales Supervisor. This position does not supervise any employees.

Essential Functions:

Performs any combination of the following duties according to specific departmental guidelines:

  1. Maintain/retain current business through outbound calls to create long-term customer – employee relationships
  2. Practice of Needs Based Selling techniques through superior customer service, focusing on the customers needs and educating
  3. Continually learn new events, promotions, sales techniques, and operational materials necessary to communicate to customer
  4. Create, sell and process a DAYTONA EXPERIENCE via FanTracker ticket software
  5. Operates computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, and/or other office machines
  6. Assist with offsite ticket sales / promotions


Additional Responsibilities:

May be asked to perform any of the duties below:

  1. Verify and/or compile ticket mailings
  2. Race weekend duties include but not limited to: setup of remote ticket buildings, ticket counting & window balancing, advance sales, will call and resolving customer issues
  3. Cash handling skills and general checks and balance knowledge
  4. Performs other such duties as may be assigned.

Disabled Assistance Transportation staff will provide assistance to guests with disabilities by transporting them from parking areas to entrance points via golf cart or tram. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. Work periods may last for 12 or more hours depending on conditions. A valid Driver’s license is required to work for Disabled Assistance Transportation. Events that you may be asked to work include The Daytona 500, Rolex 24, Budweiser Shootout, Daytona 200 by Honda, Daytona Supercross by Honda, Fall Cycle Scene, Coke Zero 400 and additional supporting events that occur in the days and weeks before these events.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean record (No DUI, drug related or major offences)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Positive attitude!
     

This is a part-time, event based position.  Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs.

Sellers work in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations including ticket offices, gates, vehicle entrance points and Sprint FanZone to sell the appropriate ticket to our guests. Events that you may be asked to work include The Daytona 500, Rolex 24, Budweiser Shootout, Daytona 200 by Honda, Daytona Supercross by Honda, Fall Cycle Scene, Coke Zero 400 and additional supporting events that occur in the days and weeks before these events.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Senior Manager, Interactive Marketing - International Speedway Corporation (Daytona Beach, FL)

The Senior Manager of Interactive Marketing Strategy is responsible for developing and assisting in the execution of the strategy as well as leading ISC and its Business Units in adoption of this strategy as it relates to interactive assets including websites, social media, analytics, on-line advertising (both buying and selling) and integration of these assets with each other and other assets including ticketing systems, email/CRM, etc. Additionally, this position will help to forge the relationship between ISC and its digital agencies of record as well as associated interactive vendors to ensure the most beneficial relationship. The position will report to the Senior Director, Relationship Marketing and will work closely with marketing services, information technology and business unit marketing leaders.

As part of their specific responsibilities, the Director/Senior Manager will:

  • Research and develop appropriate strategies for interactive consumer marketing that drive interaction/dialogue with consumers as well as ticket sales;
  • Work with internal constituencies and business unit marketing teams to experiment with various interactive opportunities, evaluate the results and communicate successes;
  • Work to deploy the interactive analytics (Omniture) package to the business units including development of training, reports and dashboards; be responsible for development and deployment of corporate reporting of interactive analytics;
  • Standardize process and manage the placement/inventory of advertising on ISC web properties (as sold by business units or corporate marketing) as well as assist in optimizing web properties through Search Engine Optimization as well as other techniques to improve site traffic;
  • Work with Corporate Branding/Media as well as Business Units in the development of their on-line advertising plans;
  • Be the corporate/business liaison with the ISC interactive agencies and vendors to strengthen those relationships and gain as much value from ISC investments in those organizations;
  • Be active in the industry, attending events, maintaining top-tier site contacts and keeping tabs on key industry developments;
  • Stay current on trends across evolving interactive channels, social media, and related mediums

Preferred Experience:

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading interactive teams, projects and strategy. They will have experience with building social media as well as on-line advertising, both buying and selling. This candidate will have a college degree, 3-6 years experience in a fast paced, business to consumer organization, preferably in entertainment or sports marketing.
