Partnership Sales Marketing Seasonal Coordinator (May 2017 – September 2017) - Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, IL)


The Partnership Sales Marketing Coordinator will work closely between the Partnership Sales team and Partnership Marketing team throughout the 2017 season. The coordinator will gain valuable experience and knowledge about partnership marketing, sales, live events and the motorsports industry while supporting the team with all efforts on multiple platforms. Activities will include partner sales and activation, on and off site displays, promotional and miscellaneous events supporting partner programs/activation. The coordinator must be readily available to work long hours and possible weekends.

Note: This is a seasonal position. Candidates are responsible for their own housing and associated expenses for the duration of the season. Season runs May 1 through September 22, 2017. Must be able to work the following event days:

  • LODRS/Burndown, June 2nd – 4th
  • NHRA, July 6th – 9th
  • NMRA/NMCA, July 27th – 30th
  • Classic, August 19th
  • ARCA and NASCAR events September 14th – 17th

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the PS and PM teams with all day-to-day duties and responsibilities
  • Work directly with PM team on daily management tasks for key accounts
  • Help with creation of strategic marketing/business materials for existing partners
  • Participate in the planning and execution of partner functions and events
  • Assist with asset management and tracking
  • Work as a member of track marketing support staff during Major Events at Route 66 Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway (duties include display area management, entitlement partner assistance, partner guest relations, general troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Help build unique sales presentations and program proposals which contain clear strategies and tactics to meet clients' needs and drive corporate revenue
  • Mailing of tickets, suite passes, and race weekend information sheets
  • Organize and manage race week events – staffing, guest lists, point of contact, etc.
  • Support the department with collecting all data and writing post-event recap reports for sponsors

Performance Measures

  • Successful execution of responsibilities as identified above
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous duties
  • Contribution of new and strategic ideas for future betterment of the PS and PM teams

Qualifications

  • Senior or graduate-level students or recent college graduates
  • Management, Marketing, Sports Management, or related business majors preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • The ability to respond quickly, calmly and professionally to event-related problems and emergencies
  • Enthusiastic about marketing and the sports industry
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours a week (maximum of 40 hours) during non-event time and extended hours during the time leading up to and through Major Events at Route 66 Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway

SUMMARY

  • The Director of Client Services is responsible for managing Daytona’s Official/Entitlement Partners, fulfillment of suite/hospitality assets, DIS special events and will act as a direct liaison to the ISC Partnership Marketing team.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Sales/Marketing/Sports Management

  • Minimum of 7 years of sponsorship sales/sales management experience

  • Strong understanding of sales cycle and have industry contacts

Job Description

  • Responsible for the sale of all Homestead Miami Speedway corporate partnerships and assets.

  • Responsible for the sale of all International Speedway Corporation assets and inventory, in conjunction with the ISC overall strategic sales plan. Work alongside the Director and other corporate sales managers on the overall renewal process for all corporate clients nationally, regionally and local.

  • Work alongside the Director and other corporate sales managers on the delivery of all on-site sponsor and corporate customer requirements, exceeding expectations during race weekend and other affiliated events.

  • Assist in the planning and development of, in accordance with budget guidelines, a local and regional sales and marketing plan for event related activities at HMS. Such activities shall include, but not limited to, event sponsorships, promotional partnerships, displays, and group sales packages including chalets, suites, fan hospitality, tour buses, and other revenue generating opportunities

  • Responsible for the development, marketing and selling of premium corporate entertainment and sponsorship packages to national, regional and local companies. Build and cultivate an ongoing “pipeline” of corporate contacts and potential sponsors. Maintain an updated accurate corporate customer database.

  • Work with the other members of the corporate sales department t towards the objective of delivering exclusive attention to, and creating a first class experience for our sponsors and partners, provide excellent customer service to our corporate customers in a manner consistent with meeting/exceeding expectations. Have an understanding and complete knowledge of all corporate customer activities prior to and during race events. Serve as a customer representative, as needed, to affect timely completion of all track obligations and to coordinate the delivery and distribution of all benefits during events.

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will be creative, a self-starter, highly motivated, organized and a team player with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task. Candidate is expected to bring a positive attitude to the workplace, to be cheerful, engaging, cooperative and productive, and to perform additional duties as required for the efficient operations of the Speedway. 

·         Four year degree in business management or communications from an accredited college/university.

·         Minimum of five year’s sales experience, specifically in sponsorship or corporate partnerships.

·         Preferably five to ten years’ experience in business development of an organization, preferably within 

           sports or entertainment.

·         Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database programs within a windows

           environment.

·         Strong internal/external customer relations and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Summary

 

The Vice President of Sales at Michigan International Speedway is responsible for all aspects of revenue generation for the facility and reports directly to the president. This person must be an energetic strategically-minded individual who can inspire others and communicate a vision of success that drives revenue and maximizes the guest experience.  This role must also collaborate with the Director of Accounting and the Vice President of Operations to identify overall strategy for the organization.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, implement and guide vision and strategy surrounding all aspects of ticket and corporate sales.

  • Lead the sales team in the selling of full menu corporate partnership assets, including but not limited to sponsorships, displays, signage, print and electronic assets and corporate hospitality for all MIS promoted events.

  • Develop and manage the execution of an annual sales plan to achieve budget goals for Michigan International Speedway.  Such plans shall include all ticket and corporate sales programs aimed at the renewal of existing business, procurement of new business.

  • Annually prepare and submit revenue and expense budget for the ticketing and corporate sales budgets.  Work to lower expenses, improve efficiencies and grow margins within the ticketing and corporate sales budgets without sacrificing the guest experience or customer service.

  • Provide year ‘round monitoring and control of revenue and expenses.  Work to improve efficiencies within each department.

  • Manage the overall sales process for tickets and corporate sales.

  • Participate in the implementation of branding strategies designed for the integration into all areas of marketing with the goals of elevating events and brand equity.

  • Creates new markets for group ticket, tours, and hospitality sales through industry research, cold/warm calls, outside sales meetings, and networking lead generation

  • Maintains existing customer accounts and develops new customer accounts
  • Creates opportunities to quote package pricing and follows up with customer requirements to ensure the ticket package fits their needs
  • Process orders and invoice company using FanTracker ticket software
  • Establishes professional customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel
  • Submits weekly activity call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer relationships
  • Follows up with non-renewals for groups of 10 or more with sale options
  • Sets and maintains a goal of sales meetings and presentations on a weekly basis
  • Manages block of inventory to use for group sales
  • Post event evaluation of overall customer’s experience and renewal follow up
  • Work on consumer outbound call campaigns when needed to increase overall sales
  • Assist with the creation and development of sales and promotional materials related to group sales and corresponding events for distribution to all targeted corporations, businesses, organizations and associations.
  • Maintain CRM records for group customers and prospects
  • Support Raceway staff during event weekends as needed
