Group Sales Manager - Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, IL)

This position is responsible for soliciting and servicing group, hospitality, and season ticket sales while also managing and motivating a sales staff consisting of full & part time staff members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prospect and sell new sales opportunities through the sale of group tickets and hospitality packages for Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway.
  • Aggressively build new relationships through cold calling, chambers, outside appointments and track tours.
  • Responsible for servicing and up selling existing group tickets accounts.
  • Involvement in race day activities, promotions for Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway and outside functions including luncheons, business shows, conventions, etc.
  • Must meet all predetermined activity and sales goals.
  • Assists with creative concepts for production of group sales materials including brochures, fliers and all other   support materials.
  • Develops professional relationships with current clients for referral leads.
  • Maintain high level of customer service
  • Ability to manage and motive a sales staff consisting of full and part time sellers

  • Accuracy in work produced.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests.
  • Timeliness of delivery of services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Sales and cold calling experience required
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment interacting with multiple departments.
  • Must be well-organized with attention to detail.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

Work Requirements

Usual office working conditions.  Occasional evening and weekend hours are required. Some work required in outdoor conditions.

Partnership Sales Manager - Chicagoland Superspeedway (Joliet, IL)

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

The Partnership Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting (networking and cold-calling), presenting, and closing new partnership agreements. Examples of partnership platforms include Event Entitlement, Official Partner, Promotional Rights and On-Site Experiential Marketing.

  • Prospecting: Identify and research new business and marketing partners. Contact decision makers within each organization.
  • Presenting: Create compelling presentations and lead new business/renewal pitches to prospective partners during meetings, potentially in a boardroom setting, and/or during telephone calls.
  • Closing: Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements that maximize revenue for ISC, CLS and RT66.
  • Comply with company wide CRM tool for revenue reporting purposes. Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly corporate revenue and prospecting goals.
  • Maintain high level of customer service to existing and new corporate clients (day-to-day account management will be handled by other staff).
  • Active participation in regional networking events.
  • Responsibility for renewal and growth of accounts.
  • Develop and grow new revenue generating partnership programs.
  • Perform assigned event day responsibilities during all major event weekends.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years sales experience in the sports/entertainment industry.
  • Ability to form strong relationships with key decision-makers at agencies, businesses, and organizations (existing relationships with decision makers in the Midwest and Chicago markets preferred).
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Internet, CRM Tools, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Detailed oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of cold calls and prospecting.
  • Career-minded individual with a strong desire to grow professionally and become ingrained in the Chicago area sports business landscape.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment interacting with multiple departments.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including events on nights and weekends.
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed for meetings.
  • Position will be based in downtown Chicago with 20% of time spent at Joliet office.
