Director of Ticketing - Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, IL)

Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval racetrack with a seating capacity in excess of 70,000 spectators and occupies more than 1,300 acres. The property also includes Route 66 Raceway’s state-of-the-art ¼ mile drag strip and ½ mile dirt track, making Joliet’s world-class motorsports complex Illinois’ largest sporting facility. Chicagoland Speedway hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, as well as non-motorsports events, endurance running events, and more. Route 66 Raceway hosts numerous races and events throughout the year, along with the featured NHRA Nationals.

Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway are wholly owned subsidiaries of International Speedway Corporation (ISC), a world leader in Motorsports Entertainment. ISC owns and operates Thirteen (13) premier properties throughout the U.S., along with MRN Radio, Official Radio Network and "The Voice of NASCAR".

Position Purpose

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to oversee the sales, service, and operations of Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway’s ticketing department, including event tickets, hospitality, group sales, and corporate RV areas across the entire season of events scheduled at both properties. In addition, this position will lead a team of ticketing and hospitality sales and ticket operations associates

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

The Director of Ticketing will be responsible for leading the strategy to grow ticket and hospitality revenue through prospecting (networking and cold-calling), presenting, and closing new and renewal ticket/hospitality sales:

o Prospecting: Identify and research new ticketing and hospitality opportunities and ticket sales channels. Contact decision makers within each organization

o Presenting: Create compelling opportunities to engage prospective customers and lead new business/renewal pitches to prospective partners during meetings, potentially in a Boardroom setting, and/or during telephone calls.

o Closing: Negotiate and finalize hospitality agreements that maximize revenue for the Speedway and Raceway

? Assist in new business development efforts by pitching and securing facility rentals for motorsports, or non-motorsports, related entertainment events, working closely with the Operations & Event Planning teams

? Comply with company wide CRM tool for revenue reporting purposes. Meet or exceed weekly/month/yearly corporate ticketing revenue and admission goals and group sales prospecting goals

? Maintain high level of customer service to existing and new customers

? Active participation in regional civic, social, and industry events

? Involvement in renewal process and growth of existing accounts, including targeted outbound campaigns, promotions, and ticket purchaser events

? Develop new and innovative premium hospitality platforms, assisting in the advancement of sales efforts

? Responsible for the development, implementation and growth of the ticket sales and operations department

? Responsible for the recruitment and training of the sales executives for the department

? Design, implement and execute the overall ticket sales plan and other various ticket sales plans and initiatives

? Develop and oversee aggressive outbound call strategy and capitalize on the ISC Contact Center resources available to the BU

? Manage sales interns to generate ancillary ticket revenue and assist in the running of the ticket sales department

? Manage the Ticket Sales Department budget

? Proactively communicate to BU Leadership team real-time fan feedback, ticket sales trends, and recommendations on how to proceed and improve to meet business goals.

? Develop creative programs to target specific community and business organizations for season ticket and group ticket sales

? Work with colleagues from other departments within the organization to ensure that all possible revenue is generated across the various platforms

? Manage the creation of all ticket sales printed pieces

? Strategic planning of long?term ticket sales programs and initiatives

? Remain aware of trends in the industry and marketplace and lead the Business Unit on new initiatives in the ticketing/ticket sales space

? Develop a research plan to measure and monitor ticket buyer opinions

? Ensure a high level of customer service pre, during, and post race and events

? Hire temporary event staffing and oversee box office operations team

?

? Represent the team at various community events, such as festivals, sporting events, etc. with the responsibility of informing the community about the track and the various events held at the track, and marketing ticket sales packages and promotions

? Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

? 4-year college degree from accredited College or University

? 8+ years of property, team, media, and/or sports/entertainment sales and/or ticket operations experience

? Highly organized with attention to detail

? Strong financial management and analytical skills

? Strong leadership skills, coaching and developing teams of sales individuals

? Driven by success and possess a "must-win" mentality

? Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Internet, CRM Tools, PowerPoint)

? Must be able to work flexible hours including events on nights and weekends

? Excellent communication and time management skills with friendly and professional demeanor

? Must demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving skills

? Ability to handle a large volume of cold calling and prospecting

? Excellent written and oral communication skills

? Must be able to work well in a team environment interacting with multiple departments

? Must possess a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.

? Must be able and willing to travel as needed for meetings
