Coordinator, Special Events - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)







JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator, Special Events is responsible for securing, contracting & executing onsite events on a year round basis along with maintaining the monthly room rental calendar and processing contracts for payment in Webnow. This position is also responsible to, hire, train and coordinate the Seasonal Hospitality staff during event time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Secure On site Clients for events through-out the year

  • Manage and write all room rental contracts. Manage all areas of the rentals through the execution phase

  • Act as liaison to Americrown Catering staff on menu, set up and execution of event

  • Maintain the room rental calendar; responsible for proactive communication of any/all changes/additions to all stakeholders/departments

  • Manage, create and distribute event plans

  • Manage scheduled events and attend room rental events to ensure client satisfaction

  • Responsible for Seasonal Hospitality staff recruitment, hiring, separations and subsequent training

  • Manage all scheduling functions for seasonal hospitality staff using the ABI payroll system during race weekends

  • Maintain Seasonal Staff Wardrobe

  • Assist in executing corporate and fan hospitality during race weekends

  • Contact any/all past due issues associated with room rentals

  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Special Events

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree or Minimum One (1) Year Event Experience

  • A passion for customer service and event management

  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Evenings and Weekends Required

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

This position is responsible for the day to day operations of Daytona International Speedway’s fan hospitality locations. Managers are responsible for implementing the fan experience provided to them. Managers must maintain at all times a positive representation of the Daytona International Speedway and the Hospitality team.

Responsibilities**:

Seasonal staff

  • Review with catering the meals, times and where the food is located in the hospitality location
  • Check that all bars are set and stocked with the proper product for that location
  • Ensure that the main dining rooms are clean and bussed of dishes, glasses, etc.
  • Check the buffet lines for fresh food product and cleanliness
  • Know and promote day’s activities in club and on track

Guests

  • Get to know the guests in your location

Guest Services Booth Fan Crew:

The role of a Guest Services Booth Fan Crew member is to assist guests at one of the Guest Services Booths that are located around property and in the Stadium. Responsibilities for this position include providing information, using the Lost & Found system, item claim checks, and fulfillment of Daytona’s “Fans R 1st” initiatives.

As a member of the Fan Crew you will be responsible for bringing our guest an unforgettable racing experience.  Fan Crew will work select publicly ticketed events throughout the year.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to work in a fast paced & high stress environment

  • Ability to withstand variable weather for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as assigned

Job Summary:

Organizes, directs, controls, and provides the leadership to achieve the departments short-range and long-range business development objectives.  Directly manage customer service staff and serves as a liaison between the DIS ticket office and ISC Contact Center.  Analyze current policies, procedures and processes to operate in a productive and efficient office while ensuring the company delivers the highest level of customer service possible.

These positions are for the 2016 Race season here at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Please begin to apply now, those selected for interviews will be contacted in May 2016, and interviews will be conducted in late May and June.

EVENT TRAM AMBASSADOR rides on a tram to ensure guests remain seated while the tram is in motion. Assist guests as necessary and as directed by the tram plaza supervisors when loading and unloading trams at tram plazas. Ambassador alerts the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of guests or incidents jeopardizing fan safety, equipment malfunction or failure. Ambassador must make PA announcements and play the designated PA message for each segment. Additionally you may be assigned to work as a plaza attendant or gate guard.

Ambassadors and Attendants are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $8.35 an hour.

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Security Officer: Provide visible security presence to guests and employees. Locking/unlocking doors and gates at appropriate times. Screen all persons entering ticketed and/or secure areas for valid credentials/tickets. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Parking Staff: Serve as positive first point of contact with guests. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to proper areas. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time

This is a temporary, event based position. Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs. You need not reapply if you have worked for the Security Department in 2015.

Senior Account Executive - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Account Executive will be responsible for generating and driving corporate hospitality and sponsorship revenue by identifying, developing and retaining national/regional/local corporate partners for the Daytona International Speedway.  Candidates should have previous sales experience within the sports and entertainment industry and should have a proven track record of exceeding sales goals.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prospecting, appointment setting, executing sales presentations and closing sales

  • Set and conduct out of office sales appointments throughout the central Florida Area

  • Acquire new clients, grow revenue from existing clients and strengthen customer relationships

  • Demonstrate sales success with the ability to exceed annual individual sales goals

  • Research leads given and prospect to establish new sales leads

  • Work closely with Daytona International Speedway sales team and other International Speedway Corporation sales staff

  • Attend networking events, dinners, and community activities

  • Collaborate with the sales team in the development of strategies, plans and initiatives relative to new and renewal business development

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Sports Management/Business

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience – sports industry preferred

  • A passion for sales and customer development

  • Strong understanding of sales cycle and process

  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of the applicable organizations

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic, results oriented and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required

  • Strong computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office

  • Must be a team player, self-starter, persistent and professional
