The Director of Business Development drives revenue and partnerships with individuals and businesses by way of Corporate Sponsorships and is responsible for the effective maintenance and renewal of the partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES include by are not limited to:
• Strategically target potential corporate sponsors and manage overall new sales programs .
• Analyze market opportunities, develop and implement sales plan to secure new sponsors.
• Develop process to identify new sponsor prospects, particularly through maintaining an understanding of emerging categories and industry trends that are opportunities in motorsports.
• Be knowledgeable and continually updated on motorsports competitive environment and value comparison.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure sales alignment to maximize revenue.
• Develop, write and present sponsorship sales proposals to sponsors.
• Create new sales collateral or modify existing collateral as required
• Development and implementation of overall speedway corporate sales plan.
• Work with internal teams to ensure that the goals and marketing commitments developed for each client are being met.
• Work with other departments to maximize cross-selling opportunities and share new ideas
• Collaborate with key external stakeholders (NASCAR, Grand Am, sponsors, teams and drivers) to align business strategies for the mutual benefit of all parties
• Work in concert with sales goals set by management to personally call on the corporate community and secure marketing partnerships, ticket sales and hospitality sales to exceed target goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Five (5) years of high performing sales experience (sports industry experience is preferred)
• Excellent network of local, regional and national corporate contacts
• Bachelors degree in sports management, business administration or related field
• Ability to think “outside of the box”
• Proven track record of personal and team achievements
• Strong proposal experience

Event Tram Driver - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

 

 

 

 

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Event Tram Drivers are responsible for driving the trucks & tractors that pull the trams on an assigned route during our events.

Additionally, you may be assigned as a van or bus driver for an assigned route.
 

To be eligible, you must have a valid Florida CDL with a passenger endorsement.
 

Shifts range from 8 – 13 hours in length.

Guest Services Event Staff - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Admissions Staff work the entrance points of the Daytona International Speedway during publicly ticketed events. Admission roles include verifying proper tickets and credentials for both entry and reentry, enforcing Speedway fan safety policies, and assisting guests with race day information and guidance. Locations for Admissions Staff are varied and include Grandstand entrance plazas, Hospitality areas, tunnels, RV areas and the Sprint FANZONE. Shifts range from 7 – 13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.79/hr

Disabled Assistance Transportation Staff will provide assistance to guests with disabilities by transporting them from parking areas to entrance points via golf cart or tram. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. A valid Driver’s license is required to work for Disabled Assistance Transportation. Shifts range from 10-15 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.79/hr

Information Ambassadors will staff Information Booths at the Daytona International Speedway during events. Information Services staff interact with guests providing race day information and guidance about Speedway schedules, locations, policies and services. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. Shifts range from 10-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.79/hr

Ticket Sellers are responsible for event day ticket sales for Daytona International Speedway events. Sellers work in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations including ticket offices, gates, vehicle entrance points and Sprint FANZONE to sell the appropriate ticket to our guests. Shifts range from 7-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $8/hr

Tram Ambassadors ride along on our trams to insure our passengers remain seated while the tram is in motion. They also assist passengers as necessary and as directed by the supervisor when loading/unloading trams in the tram plazas. Ambassadors alert the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of passengers, incidents jeopardizing fan safety, and equipment malfunction or failure. Additionally, you may also work as a plaza attendant at Tram Plazas, assisting in the loading and unloading of passengers. Shifts range from 10-16 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.79/hr

Usher Staff will work in the seating areas of the Daytona International Speedway during select publicly ticketed events. Ushers must be highly pro-active and outgoing. Ushers are responsible for assisting guests to locate and verify seating locations, enforcing Speedway safety policies, and providing race day information and guidance to guests. Ushers will also be asked to perform daily preparation of their assigned seating areas including drying seats and reporting any required repairs. Shifts range from 7 – 12 hours in length.

The Hospitality Team at the Daytona International Speedway is currently looking for event/temporary hospitality team members to work all areas of hospitality during the upcoming Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola weekend July 6th & 7th. Security Manager will assist in the day-to-day to operations as well as event-time operations of the Security Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" -- the Daytona 500. The Daytona 500 is the biggest, richest and most prestigious race in America and annually kicks off the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Although the Daytona 500 garners most of the attention, the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe -- earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to nine major weekends of racing activity, featuring everything from NASCAR to the Rolex Sports Car Series to the American Motorcyclist Association and the World Karting Association, the Speedway is also booked for more than two solid months each year for testing and development of various race vehicles. Motorized meandering aside, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, athletic games, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Regional Account Managers by directing sales activities, setting and reviewing sales targets, coaching, recruiting, and training, as well as actively prospecting new accounts, and maintaining and expanding existing accounts for all events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage a team of Regional Account Managers to ensure revenue is maximized for all events
• Responsible for the development and execution of a Regional Sales Plan
• Maintain accurate reporting regarding sales, forecasting, activity, and account maintenance
• Actively support the Sales Department sales efforts internally and externally through call preparation, making sales calls with the Account Managers, attending networking events, dinners, and community activities
• Work closely with all departments to ensure a high level of communication relative to suite sales activity, inventory control, contracts, and invoicing
• Prospect, establish, research, and close corporate hospitality and ticket sales through cold-calling, appointments, and networking
• Provide new and innovative hospitality sales ideas to assist in the advancement of sales efforts
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Vice President in the development of strategies, plans and initiatives relative to new and renewal business development
• Other duties as assigned by the Director, and Vice President of Sales

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing/Sports Management
• Previous management experience and/or a minimum of three (3) years of high performing sales experience (sports industry experience is preferred)
• A passion for sales and customer development
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of the applicable organizations
• Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills

Summary

Conduct guided tours of Daytona International Speedway.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Conduct Daytona International Speedway Tours (Speedway Tour, All Access Tour and VIP Tour) in a professional and informative manner.
  2. Ensure safety of guests.
  3. Prepare trams at the start of the shift (i.e. check fuel, oil, water and all other fluids as necessary).
  4. Assist guests with special needs and ensure ADA compliance.
  5. Complete necessary paperwork (i.e. guest log sheet, incident and vehicle condition reports and closing sheets).
  6. Memorize and deliver various tour script narratives to guests in a clear and exciting presentation.
  7. Drive multi-unit trams, pickup trucks with single and double Featherlite trams and a 28 passenger bus to deliver daily tours and during event time.
  8. Drive Richard Petty Driving and Ride Experience guests to the infield and return to Tours area.
  9. Operate walkie-talkie radio in proper and professional manner for clear and concise communications with Tour team and Ticket Operations.
  10. Enhance guest's knowledge of Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR and motorsports in general.
  11. Assist in training new Tour staff.
  12. Other duties as assigned and available to work during events at Daytona International Speedway with Event Tram Operations plus Speedway Show Car Operations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • CDL Class C with passenger endorsement.
  • CPR/Defibrillation course (can be completed at the onset of employment).
  • Clean driving record (verifiable by company background check).

Physical Demands

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 60 pounds (i.e. change a tram unit tire) and be able to work in all elements.
