JOB SUMMARY

The Account Executive is responsible for managing existing Daytona International Speedway accounts as well as actively prospecting new accounts and expanding current business, which includes introducing new partnership opportunities related to the DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project. This sales executive must demonstrate sales experience and contribute to the continuous success of the sales team. The person in this role will cold call, prospect, pitch, negotiatie, close revenue opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acquire new clients, grow revenue from existing clients and strengthen customer relationships
  • Prospect, establish, research, and close corporate partnerships, suites/hospitality and ticket sales through cold-calling, appointments, and networking
  • Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly corporate revenue and prospecting goals
  • Maintain high level of customer service to existing and new corporate clients
  • Attend networking events, dinners and community events
  • Work closely with Daytona International Speedway sales team and other International Speedway Corporation sales staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Sales

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Sales/Marketing/Sports Management
  • A passion for sales and customer development
  • Detail oriented, with exceptional communication and presentation skills (telephone and in-person) Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of the applicable organizations
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Results oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required
  • Strong computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ACT Database Management

Communications: Media/Public Relations Servicing
Director of Public Relations - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

 

 

 

 

The Director of Public Relations is responsible for managing the reputation of Daytona International Speedway through sound, strategic and forward-thinking public relations while working in close collaboration with marketing and ticketing.
 

Essential Functions:

• Develop and execute PR plan for $400 million DAYTONA Rising construction project
o Establish and maintain messaging throughout the various phases of the project
o Maintain an on-going update of PR successes and progress for Sr. Management and BOD.
o Manage Coyne Public Relations and ensure they stay on budget while delivering on expectations
o Ensure all construction stakeholders (Barton Malow, Rossetti, Core Message, Coyne, ISC, DIS, Americrown, Design and Development, MRN) stay aligned on communications initiatives and messaging.
o Collaborate with NASCAR IMC, IMSA and other sanctioning bodies to provide regular updates / messaging and to maximize opportunities to insert DAYTONA Rising into their narrative to elevate the DIS brand throughout the motorsports industry.
• Develop annual strategic PR plans to define messaging and maximize awareness for its major events throughout the year.
• Support and strengthen the DIS brand across all public facing channels in close partnership with consumer marketing through consistent messaging and strategic positioning.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with local, regional and national journalists.
• Maximize creativity to elevate the DIS brand within the NASCAR and motorsports media landscape, and beyond the sports page into the national main stream.
• Ensure flawless execution of media outreach, i.e. drafting of press releases, speeches, presentations, pitches, copy, editorials, program copy, newsletter copy, other collateral, etc.
• Oversee PR Team which includes Sr. Manager of Media Relations and DIS credential department.
• Oversee crisis communication – in close partnership with DIS and ISC leadership and legal (and NASCAR when necessary – develop strategy, messaging and rollout / response in times of crisis. Develop and maintain crisis communication/management plan to anticipate potential media issues and provide proper messaging to relevant spokespeople. Leverage media relationships to ensure proper understanding of DIS/ISC message and response. Ultimate goal is to minimize damage to DIS/ISC brand.
• Oversee Media Center and Press Box. Ensure flawless execution of service to all media members on site, including rapid distribution of information, courteous / friendly service, clean environment, working amenities, ample workstations, crystal clear audio / video service and other technical aspects, comfortable settings, ability to handle special requests as they arise.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Public Relations/Communications
• 5-7 years of experience in a PR/communications position
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must be able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include car club racing, motorcycles, civic and social gatherings, and car shows.
Daytona International Speedway is seeking certified Fire Rescue professionals that will interact with our guests and professional racing team participants during racing events.

Essential Functions:
• Perform Fire and EMS response functions. Shifts range from 6-16 hours depending on event.
• Practice and maintain professional work ethic and appearance.

Required Certifications:
• Current State of Florida Fire I & II (Minimum Standards)
• Current State of Florida EMT Basic or Paramedic Certificate (National Registry will not be accepted)
• Current BLS CPR card (ASHI, American Red Cross and American Heart accepted)
• Current ACLS card (Paramedics) (ASHI, American Red Cross and American Heart accepted)
• EVOC or CEVO certificate
• PALS or PEPP cert preferred, but not required (Paramedics)

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Grad/GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must successfully pass a driving record check.
• Must provide proof of active affiliation with a Florida Public Safety Agency.
• Must attend mandatory annual training.
• Must successfully pass BLS or ALS protocol test as required by Emergency Services Medical Director
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• Strong communication skills including written reports.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

This is a temporary seasonal, event based position. Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs.  FF/EMT $12/hr; FF/PM $14/hr.  You need not reapply if you have worked for the Emergency Services Department in 2013.

Preferred candidates will have at least three years of field experience in Fire and/or EMS.

Guest Services Event Staff - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Admissions Staff work the entrance points of the Daytona International Speedway during publicly ticketed events. Admission roles include verifying proper tickets and credentials for both entry and reentry, enforcing Speedway fan safety policies, and assisting guests with race day information and guidance. Locations for Admissions Staff are varied and include Grandstand entrance plazas, Hospitality areas, tunnels, RV areas and the Sprint FANZONE. Shifts range from 7 – 13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Disabled Assistance Transportation Staff will provide assistance to guests with disabilities by transporting them from parking areas to entrance points via golf cart or tram. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. A valid Driver’s license is required to work for Disabled Assistance Transportation. Shifts range from 10-15 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Information Ambassadors will staff Information Booths at the Daytona International Speedway during events. Information Services staff interact with guests providing race day information and guidance about Speedway schedules, locations, policies and services. Applicants for these positions should be out going and exhibit a willingness to help others. Shifts range from 10-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Ticket Sellers are responsible for event day ticket sales for Daytona International Speedway events. Sellers work in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations including ticket offices, gates, vehicle entrance points and Sprint FANZONE to sell the appropriate ticket to our guests. Shifts range from 7-13 hours in length. Pay rate: $8/hr

Tram Ambassadors ride along on our trams to insure our passengers remain seated while the tram is in motion. They also assist passengers as necessary and as directed by the supervisor when loading/unloading trams in the tram plazas. Ambassadors alert the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of passengers, incidents jeopardizing fan safety, and equipment malfunction or failure. Additionally, you may also work as a plaza attendant at Tram Plazas, assisting in the loading and unloading of passengers. Shifts range from 10-16 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr

Tram Drivers are responsible for driving the trucks & tractors that pull the trams on an assigned route. Additionally, you may be assigned as a van or bus driver for an assigned route. To be eligible, you must have a valid Florida CDL with a passenger endorsement. Shifts range from 8 – 13 hours in length.

Usher Staff will work in the seating areas of the Daytona International Speedway during select publicly ticketed events. Ushers must be highly pro-active and outgoing. Ushers are responsible for assisting guests to locate and verify seating locations, enforcing Speedway safety policies, and providing race day information and guidance to guests. Ushers will also be asked to perform daily preparation of their assigned seating areas including drying seats and reporting any required repairs. Shifts range from 7 – 12 hours in length. Pay rate: $7.93/hr
