Admission Fan Crew - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500!  Since the conclusion of our massive renovation, Daytona International Speedway now gives our fans the only stadium experience in racing! With our 2017 events quickly approaching, we are looking for motivated and outgoing crew member that will deliver the best experience in sports!

 

Admission Fan Crew:

Admission Fan Crew is an important part of the DAYTONA Guest Experience. Members work at Admission Gates, Tunnels, or the Infield Campgrounds depending on qualifications and interest. Each area is responsible for bringing our Guests an unforgettable racing experience.

Admission Fan Crew is ONLY a seasonal/temporary event based position. Main events run January, February, March, May, and July with smaller events throughout the year.

Shift length: 8-12 hours depending on specific event needs and event conditions.  Additional pay is offered to those who primarily work overnight shifts (5:30PM-6:00AM).

Responsibilities at the Admission Gates:

  • Properly scanning each Guest’s ticket for valid access into the facility.

  • Properly checking each Guest’s credential for valid access into the facility.

  • Assisting Guests with accurate directions and any other assistance on property.

  • All other duties assigned.

Responsibilities at the Tunnels:

  • Checking each vehicle for valid access into the infield.

  • Checking each RV for any items that are prohibited from entrance into the infield campgrounds.

  • Checking each Guest’s Ticket or Credential for valid access into the infield.

  • All other duties assigned.

Responsibilities at the Infield Campgrounds:

  • Assisting each Camper to their appropriate space.

  • Checking each Guest for valid access into each campground.

  • Assisting Guests with any campground issues they may encounter.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be friendly, enthusiastic, personable, and reliable.

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Must learn quickly and be trainable.

  • Ability to work in a faced paced & high stress environment.

  • Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time (12+ hours).

  • Ability to work outside in variable seasonal weather conditions.

  • Ability to work with others and take direction.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.

  • Must follow dress code and have a clean, presentable appearance at all times.

Assistant Stadium Manager - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

SUMMARY: Participate in and oversee daily operations of the Stadium

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These include execution of Major Events and Daily Maintenance of stadium operations; assisting the Stadium Manager in the following:

  • Year-round and Event-specific operation of Daytona International Speedway’s Stadium.

  • Assurance of stadium readiness and smooth operations of events.

  • Coordinate Event Usage Calendars in cooperation with all of DIS Departments.

  • Implement and supervise maintenance programs for major systems and assets in the Stadium.

  • Perform Daily, Weekly, and Monthly walk-throughs of Stadium.

  • Review, Supervise and Implements Service Contracts with outside vendors for key stadium functions throughout the year. Distributing work orders to the correct technician(s).

  • Assist stadium manager in the preparation of the annual operating budget.

  • Manage equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.

  • Monitor annual inventory of all equipment.

  • Manage and review conduct of stadium direct reports.

  • Study and ensure that all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed.

  • Other duties as needed.

Daytona International Speedway is owned by International Speedway Corporation and is a leading promoter of motorsports activities, currently promoting more than 100 racing events annually as well as numerous other motorsports-related activities.  The Company owns and/or operates 13 of the nation’s major motorsports entertainment facilities.

Position Summary:

This position plays an integral role within the Guest Services department by implementing innovative recruiting practices, training and retaining our seasonal staff and non-profit groups.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting – Under the direction of the Director, Guest Services, develop and implement an event staffing strategy.

  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying past events and understanding business objectives.

  • Deliver new and creative ways to attract new seasonal staff and non-profit groups.

  • Build relationships with local and regional groups including but not limited to community services groups, colleges and employment agencies.

  • Utilize internal resources in the recruiting process through media or other marketing channels.

Supervision – Directly oversee the Recruiting Coordinator and provide oversight to seasonal staff during events.

Scheduling – Assist in scheduling event staff using the ABI workforce scheduling system. 

Facility Rentals – Work closely with the Manager of Events, DIS Sales and DIS Operations with hosting special events and room rentals as needed.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement – recommend new policies and procedures that will contribute to a better work environment and overall fan experience.

     

  • Training Events – with the assistance of the Guest Services team, support new hire and returning event staff training.  Recommend new training techniques necessary to provide superior training and ultimately our fan experience.

     

  • Human Resources – stay current on the company’s organizational structure, personnel policies and all Federal/State Laws regarding employment practices.

     

  • Hiring Events – work with the Guest Services team to set-up hiring events to be held on speedway property.  Perform both in-person and phone interviews with seasonal candidates.

     

  • Reporting – develop a plan to track and measure event employee performance.

Qualifications:

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or Sports Management

This position is responsible for the day-to-day staff badge operation which includes taking employee photos, loading photos into the personnel system, printing badges and recording waiver signatures for all employees who receive a staff badge.  May also be asked to assist in other credential distribution duties when not engaged in badge printing duties.

With our upcoming Coke Zero 400 weekend of events we are currently looking for motivated and outgoing crew that will deliver the best experience in sports!

These positions are for the 2016 Race season here at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Please begin to apply now, those selected for interviews will be contacted in October 2016, and interviews will be conducted in late November and December.

EVENT TRAM AMBASSADOR rides on a tram to ensure guests remain seated while the tram is in motion. Assist guests as necessary and as directed by the tram plaza supervisors when loading and unloading trams at tram plazas. Ambassador alerts the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of guests or incidents jeopardizing fan safety, equipment malfunction or failure. Ambassador must make PA announcements and play the designated PA message for each segment. Additionally you may be assigned to work as a plaza attendant or gate guard.

Ambassadors and Attendants are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $8.35 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

With our upcoming 2017 Speedweeks of events we are currently looking for motivated and outgoing crew that will deliver the best experience in sports!

These positions are for the 2017 Race season here at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Please begin to apply now, those selected for interviews will be contacted in October 2016, and interviews will be conducted in late November and December.

EVENT TRAM DRIVER is responsible for driving trucks and/or tractors that pull trams on an assigned route. Additionally a driver may be assigned as a van or bus driver for a designated route. All drivers must have a valid Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger endorsement with current physical. Drivers must pass a Motor Vehicle Report before being considered.

Tram Drivers are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $10.20 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

  • Must possess a Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger Endorsement

  • Must be able to work Daytona 500 day, as well as other assigned events

  • Strong communications and customer service skills

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment

  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as assigned

  • Positive attitude, friendly and outgoing

Security and Parking Event Staff - Event/Temporary - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, Fl)







Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Security Officer: Provide visible security presence to guests and employees. Locking/unlocking doors and gates at appropriate times. Screen all persons entering ticketed and/or secure areas for valid credentials/tickets. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Parking Staff: Serve as positive first point of contact with guests. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to proper areas. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time
• Positive attitude!

Valid Driver’s License

This is a temporary, event based position. Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs. You need not reapply if you have worked for the Security Department in 2015.

Stadium Fan Crew:

Stadium Fan Crew is an important part of the Daytona Experience.  As a member of the Fan Crew you will be responsible for bringing our guest an unforgettable racing experience.  Fan Crew will work select publicly ticketed events throughout the year. 

  • Responsibilities:

    • Assisting guests with the location of their seats

    • Enforcing Speedway policies and procedures

    • Providing event information to all guests

    • Checking your area before gates open to make sure all is in working order

 

  • Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Customer service experience preferred

    • Ability to stand long periods of time

    • Ability to work outdoors in the changing weather

Fan Crew is a seasonal/temporary event based position.  Shifts and hours will vary depending on specific event needs.

Support Team - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500!  Since the conclusion of our massive renovation, Daytona International Speedway now gives our fans the only stadium experience in racing! With our 2017 events quickly approaching, we are looking for motivated and outgoing crew members that will deliver the best experience in sports!

Support Team:

Support Team assists the entire Guest Services department with critical tasks on event days at Daytona International Speedway. The position is an integral part of bringing our Guests an unforgettable racing experience.

Support Team is ONLY a seasonal/temporary event based position. Main events run January-March and July with smaller events throughout the year.

Shift length: 12+ hours depending on specific event needs and event conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup and teardown items such as signage, tents, tables, chairs, and steel barricades.
  • Transporting staff to and from specific work locations on property.
  • Deliver items such as water coolers and event information to Fan Crew Members.
  • Assist all Guest Services Departments with various tasks.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Application check (Valid Driver’s License)
  • Must be friendly, enthusiastic, and personable

  • Strong communication skills
  • Must learn quickly and be trainable

  • Ability to work in a faced paced & high stress environment
  • Ability to be on feet in for extended periods of time (8-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift equipment in excess 50lbs

Facility Operations/Security: Event Guest Relations
Tour Guide and Driver (Part-time) - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Conduct Daytona International Speedway Tours (Speedway Tour, All Access Tour and VIP Tour) in a professional and informative manner.

  2. Ensure safety of guests.

  3. Prepare trams at the start of the shift (i.e. check fuel, oil, water and all other fluids as necessary).

  4. Assist guests with special needs and ensure ADA compliance.

  5. Complete necessary paperwork (i.e. guest log sheet, incident and vehicle condition reports and closing sheets).

  6. Memorize and deliver various tour script narratives to guests in a clear and exciting presentation.

  7. Drive multi-unit trams, pickup trucks with single and double Featherlite trams and a 28 passenger bus to deliver daily tours and during event time.

  8. Drive Richard Petty Driving and Ride Experience guests to the infield and return to Tours area.

  9. Operate walkie-talkie radio in proper and professional manner for clear and concise communications with Tour team and Ticket Operations.

  10. Enhance guest's knowledge of Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR and motorsports in general.

  11.  Assist in training new Tour staff.

  12. Other duties as assigned and available to work during events at Daytona International Speedway with Event Tram Operations plus Speedway Show Car Operations.

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • CDL Class C with passenger endorsement.
  • CPR/Defibrillation course (can be completed at the onset of employment).
  • Clean driving record (verifiable by company background check).

Physical Demands

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 60 pounds (i.e. change a tram unit tire) and be able to work in all elements.

Added Candidate Attributes (a plus but not necessary)

  • Foreign language skills (French, Spanish, German, etc.).
