Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500!  Since the conclusion of our massive renovation, Daytona International Speedway now gives our fans the only stadium experience in racing! With our 2017 events quickly approaching, we are looking for motivated and outgoing crew member that will deliver the best experience in sports!

ADA Cart Fan Crew:

The role of an ADA Cart Fan Crew member is to assist with transportation of disabled guests via golf carts around the facility from the designated pick-up/drop-off locations.

The position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of activities at Daytona International Speedway and its ability to deliver consistently high quality service to all guests, particularly those in need of transportation assistance.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to work in a fast paced & high stress environment

  • Must be able to pass an Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

  • Ability to be on feet in variable weather for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned

Fan Crew is a seasonal/temporary event based position.  Shifts and hours will vary depending on specific event needs. There is a mandatory 60 consecutive days off period in the same calendar year to comply with seasonal employment policies.

ADA Shuttle Stop Fan Crew Responsibilities:

  • Manage organization and flow of shuttle stop queue line

  • Guide cart drivers to loading position
  • Efficiently seat guests on carts without exceeding the number of seats available

  • Ensure guests are properly seated before notifying the driver to depart

  • Be able to communicate with drivers and supervisors via communications radio when necessary

     

ADA Cart Driver Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for inspecting vehicle prior to use each day

  • Must follow all DIS driver safety rules

  • Must stay on designated path of travel

  • Be able to communicate with other drivers and supervisors via communications radio when necessary

Admission Fan Crew:

Admission Fan Crew is an important part of the DAYTONA Guest Experience. Members work at Admission Gates, Tunnels, or the Infield Campgrounds depending on qualifications and interest. Each area is responsible for bringing our Guests an unforgettable racing experience.

Admission Fan Crew is ONLY a seasonal/temporary event based position. Main events run January, February, March, May, and July with smaller events throughout the year.

Shift length: 8-12 hours depending on specific event needs and event conditions.  Additional pay is offered to those who primarily work overnight shifts (5:30PM-6:00AM).

Responsibilities at the Admission Gates:

  • Properly scanning each Guest’s ticket for valid access into the facility.

  • Properly checking each Guest’s credential for valid access into the facility.

  • Assisting Guests with accurate directions and any other assistance on property.

  • All other duties assigned.

Responsibilities at the Tunnels:

  • Checking each vehicle for valid access into the infield.

  • Checking each RV for any items that are prohibited from entrance into the infield campgrounds.

  • Checking each Guest’s Ticket or Credential for valid access into the infield.

  • All other duties assigned.

Responsibilities at the Infield Campgrounds:

  • Assisting each Camper to their appropriate space.

  • Checking each Guest for valid access into each campground.

  • Assisting Guests with any campground issues they may encounter.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

In January 2016 Daytona International Speedway will unveil its $400 million reimagining of an American Icon. The 2½-year construction project has created the world’s first true motorsports stadium featuring 101,500 wider and more comfortable seating, 11 modern football field sized “neighborhoods”, double the amount of restrooms, triple the number of concessions, 17 elevators and 40 escalators, more than any other outdoor stadium. The project will completely reimagine the fan’s experience at the “World Center of Racing.”

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Advertising and Promotions Intern for Spring 2017. 

This position will report to the Advertising & Promotions Manager and will perform duties assigned by the Marketing team. 

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with coordination and execution of VIP experiences for promotional prize winners. Past experiences have included garage tours, access to Gatorade Victory Lane, hot laps, etc.  
  • Create itineraries for promotional winners, remote broadcasts and VIPs

Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the Daytona 500!  Since completing our $400 million renovation earlier this year, we are proud to say that Daytona International Speedway is host to the only stadium experience in racing!  Daytona International Speedway does not only host NASCAR races, we are now host to a diverse calendar of events all year long.  Daytona is home to the Country 500 Music Festival, Bike Week which includes the Honda Supercross, Daytona 200 and many more activities.

Daytona International Speedway is owned by International Speedway Corporation and is a leading promoter of motorsports activities, currently promoting more than 100 racing events annually as well as numerous other motorsports-related activities.  The Company owns and/or operates 13 of the nation’s major motorsports entertainment facilities.

Position Summary:

This position plays an integral role within the Guest Services department by implementing innovative recruiting practices, training and retaining our seasonal staff and non-profit groups.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting – Under the direction of the Director, Guest Services, develop and implement an event staffing strategy.

  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying past events and understanding business objectives.

  • Deliver new and creative ways to attract new seasonal staff and non-profit groups.

  • Build relationships with local and regional groups including but not limited to community services groups, colleges and employment agencies.

  • Utilize internal resources in the recruiting process through media or other marketing channels.

Supervision – Directly oversee the Recruiting Coordinator and provide oversight to seasonal staff during events.

Scheduling – Assist in scheduling event staff using the ABI workforce scheduling system. 

Facility Rentals – Work closely with the Manager of Events, DIS Sales and DIS Operations with hosting special events and room rentals as needed.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement – recommend new policies and procedures that will contribute to a better work environment and overall fan experience.

     

  • Training Events – with the assistance of the Guest Services team, support new hire and returning event staff training.  Recommend new training techniques necessary to provide superior training and ultimately our fan experience.

     

  • Human Resources – stay current on the company’s organizational structure, personnel policies and all Federal/State Laws regarding employment practices.

     

  • Hiring Events – work with the Guest Services team to set-up hiring events to be held on speedway property.  Perform both in-person and phone interviews with seasonal candidates.

     

  • Reporting – develop a plan to track and measure event employee performance. 

     

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or Sports Management

  • 5+ years strategic focus on recruiting programs with demonstrated results

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Previous management experience required

Seasonal Credentials Assistant - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for the day-to-day staff badge operation which includes taking employee photos, loading photos into the personnel system, printing badges and recording waiver signatures for all employees who receive a staff badge.  May also be asked to assist in other credential distribution duties when not engaged in badge printing duties.

Qualifications / Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Must be able to carry equipment up to 10 pounds.

  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions. 

  • Be able to take direction and work well with others.

  • The ability to work in a diverse environment in an efficient, consistent and professional manner.

Excellent organizational skills, prioritization and attention to detail

Seasonal Hospitality Team Member - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

The Hospitality Team at the Daytona International Speedway is looking for seasonal staff members to fill our various open positions for the upcoming 2017 race season.  We are in search of friendly, outgoing and positive attitude people who are willing to work as part of a team. Jobs entail greeting guests, checking admissions, and answering any questions guests may have. All positions are seasonal, event based. Shifts and hours vary based on our event needs.

Seasonal – Event Time Only Tram Ambassadors/Attendants - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

DAYTONA 500!  Since the conclusion of our massive renovation, Daytona Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the International Speedway now gives our fans the only stadium experience in racing! With our upcoming Coke Zero 400 weekend of events we are currently looking for motivated and outgoing crew that will deliver the best experience in sports!

These positions are for the 2016 Race season here at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Please begin to apply now, those selected for interviews will be contacted in October 2016, and interviews will be conducted in late November and December.

EVENT TRAM AMBASSADOR rides on a tram to ensure guests remain seated while the tram is in motion. Assist guests as necessary and as directed by the tram plaza supervisors when loading and unloading trams at tram plazas. Ambassador alerts the driver immediately upon observing any unsafe movement of guests or incidents jeopardizing fan safety, equipment malfunction or failure. Ambassador must make PA announcements and play the designated PA message for each segment. Additionally you may be assigned to work as a plaza attendant or gate guard.

Ambassadors and Attendants are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $8.35 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

  • Strong communications and customer service skills

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment

  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as assigned

  • Must be able to work Daytona 500 day, as well as other assigned events

  • Positive attitude, friendly and outgoing

All drivers must have a valid Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger endorsement with current physical. Drivers must pass a Motor Vehicle Report before being considered.

Tram Drivers are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department. Shifts range from 8 – 15 hours but depend on race finish times, and will pay a rate of $10.20 an hour.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

  • Must possess a Class A, B, or C CDL with Passenger Endorsement

Security and Parking Event Staff - Event/Temporary - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, Fl)







Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Security Officer: Provide visible security presence to guests and employees. Locking/unlocking doors and gates at appropriate times. Screen all persons entering ticketed and/or secure areas for valid credentials/tickets. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Parking Staff: Serve as positive first point of contact with guests. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to proper areas. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time
• Positive attitude!

Valid Driver’s License

This is a temporary, event based position. Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs. You need not reapply if you have worked for the Security Department in 2015.

Stadium Fan Crew:

Stadium Fan Crew is an important part of the Daytona Experience.  As a member of the Fan Crew you will be responsible for bringing our guest an unforgettable racing experience.  Fan Crew will work select publicly ticketed events throughout the year. 

  • Responsibilities:

    • Assisting guests with the location of their seats

    • Enforcing Speedway policies and procedures

    • Providing event information to all guests

    • Checking your area before gates open to make sure all is in working order

 

  • Qualifications/Requirements:

With our 2017 events quickly approaching, we are looking for motivated and outgoing crew members that will deliver the best experience in sports!

Support Team:

Support Team assists the entire Guest Services department with critical tasks on event days at Daytona International Speedway. The position is an integral part of bringing our Guests an unforgettable racing experience.

Support Team is ONLY a seasonal/temporary event based position. Main events run January-March and July with smaller events throughout the year.

Shift length: 12+ hours depending on specific event needs and event conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup and teardown items such as signage, tents, tables, chairs, and steel barricades.
  • Transporting staff to and from specific work locations on property.
  • Deliver items such as water coolers and event information to Fan Crew Members.
  • Assist all Guest Services Departments with various tasks.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Application check (Valid Driver’s License)
  • Must be friendly, enthusiastic, and personable

  • Strong communication skills
  • Must learn quickly and be trainable

  • Ability to work in a faced paced & high stress environment
  • Ability to be on feet in for extended periods of time (8-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift equipment in excess 50lbs
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned
