Audio Visual Technician (EVENT/SEASONAL) - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Cup event garners most of the attention, the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include car club racing, motorcycles, civic and social gatherings, and car shows. 

Daytona International Speedway is seeking seasonal employees with audio visual technical expertise that will interact with our guests and participants during racing events and onsite special events.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Plan, setup, and manage audio visual aspects of Daytona Intl. Speedway related events. This includes large spectator events and track and client meeting room rentals. (not TV production

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the DIS Operations, Venue Tech, and Special Event teams on upcoming events.
  • Attend site tours with the sales manager and their clients to discuss upcoming events in greater detail to understand the client’s audio visual needs.
  • Manage audio/video in fan areas to include the Fan Zone, D500 Club, Garage areas, as well as with special events held in the DIS Stadium and Hall of Fame.
  • Assist the Event Operations team as need to support events.

  • Manage vendors for potential upgrades & troubleshooting.
  • Maintain inventory and operation of AV equipment; assess existing equipment and make recommendations for replacement and upgrades.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

 OTHER DUTIES

  • Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • Basic office systems including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone.
  • All types of microphones (wired, and wireless)
  • Live sound public address systems (mixing consoles and speakers)
  • Laptop to LCD projector interfacing (Standard VGA or DVI conversion)
  • Standard DVD video playback (presentations, corporate pieces)

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Duties include interacting with customers in a professional and sales oriented manner, performing clerical/order entry work requiring application of various work methods and procedures, and familiarity with departmental functions, policies, and practices.  Provide for customer service, product upsell problem-solving and order processing via telephone and walk-ups.  Directly reports to Manager of Ticketing Services.  This position does not supervise any employees.

SUMMARY

  • The Director of Client Services is responsible for managing Daytona’s Official/Entitlement Partners, fulfillment of suite/hospitality assets, DIS special events and will act as a direct liaison to the ISC Partnership Marketing team.

Facility Operations/Security: Security
Security and Parking Event Staff - Event/Temporary - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Security Officer: Provide visible security presence to guests and employees. Locking/unlocking doors and gates at appropriate times. Screen all persons entering ticketed and/or secure areas for valid credentials/tickets. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Parking Staff: Serve as positive first point of contact with guests. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to proper areas. Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking and disabled assistance. Posts are located throughout Speedway properties.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time
• Positive attitude!
• Valid Driver’s License

This is a temporary, event based position. Shifts and hours will vary based on our event needs. You need not reapply if you have worked for the Security Department in 2016.

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Operations
Ticket Services Coordinator - Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL)

Job Summary:
Duties include interacting with customers in a professional and sales oriented manner, performing clerical/order entry work requiring application of various work methods and procedures, and familiarity with departmental functions, policies, and practices.  Provide for customer service, product upsell problem-solving and order processing via telephone and walk-ups.  This position will also be heavily focused on the training and development of seasonal staff members, and may also assist in prospecting potential seasonal employees.  Furthermore, this position will assist the Manager of Ticketing Services with creating and implementing a formal training program for new hires and assist with QA within the Daytona Ticket Office as well as the ISC Corporate Call Center.  Directly reports to Manager of Ticketing Services.  This position does not supervise any employees.

Essential Functions:

Performs any combination of the following duties according to specific departmental guidelines:

  1. Maintain/retain current business through outbound calls to create long-term customer relationships
  2. Continually learn new events, promotions, sales techniques, and operational materials necessary to communicate to customers.
  3. Create, sell and process a DAYTONA EXPERIENCE via FanTracker ticket software
  4. Extensive use of computer applications such as FanTracker reservation system and Microsoft programs
  5. Assist with training new seasonal staff hires and promote continued employee development.
  6. Must be able to effectively coach and train a variety of employees and be able to effectively provide feedback based on individual performance in situations over the phone and face to face.

Additional Responsibilities:

May be asked to perform any of the duties below:

  1. Assist with offsite ticket sales / promotions
  2. Race weekend duties include but not limited to:  advance sales, will call and resolving customer issues.
  3. Cash handling skills and general checks and balance knowledge
  4. Performs other such duties as may be assigned.

  1. Ability to communicate effectively; excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
  2. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  9. Flexible schedule, able to work some evenings and weekends.  Open office hours 7 days a week 9:00am – 6:00pm with extended hours leading into event weekends
