Account Executive – Ticket Sales - Homestead-Miami Speedway (Homestead, FL)

The Speedway has been open since 1995 following an initiative to spur economic recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew.  The 650-acre facility is active more than 280 days per year and will host NASCAR’s championship races during Ford Championship Weekend (November 14-16, 2014) for the 13th consecutive year.  The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship Ford EcoBoost 400 is broadcast live on TV and radio to 200 countries in 24 languages.  Homestead-Miami Speedway, featuring a 1.5-mile oval and 2.21-mile road course, generates more than $250 million annually for the region.

FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales of single-day and multi-day ticket packages, as well as group tickets and premium seating, to individuals, businesses, churches, civic organizations, etc.
  • Under direction of the Director of Ticket Sales, assist in the planning and development of, in accordance with budget guidelines, a regional and local sales plan and initiatives for event related activities at HMS. Such activities shall include, but not limited to club seats, group sales packages, chalets, suites, and other revenue generating opportunities
  • Assist with maintaining hospitality inventory database (update hospitality & signage layouts, and communicate with Americrown, OPS (sign shop), and appropriate vendors)
  • With Director of Ticket Sales, oversee all facets of entertainment on race weekends. Work with the event staff including interns, volunteers, and other HMS staff, including Americrown and other vendors required to ensure that mutually agreed to, or contractually specified, obligations to the customer are performed at a level that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to overseeing pit tours, coordination of driver appearances, etc. During events, be available for the customers for questions, additional requests, etc
  • Assist with implementation of the hospitality and suite renewal process. Process includes, but not limited to, development of correspondence, information included in packet, and tracking process with follow-up plan
  • Coordinate volunteer/Hospitality Concierge program: recruitment, training, scheduling.  Ensure all concierge supplies are ordered and in-house
  • Assist Director of Ticket Sales, as directed, to provide for the accurate financial and control procedures of various sales activities. Maintain appropriate files on customer services/obligations
  • Prospect and qualify all potential sales opportunities in addition to the leads you are provided
  • Extensive cold calling to potential season ticket, group ticket and premium seating prospects on a daily basis (minimum of 50 outbound phone calls daily)
  • Face to face selling
  • Continually prospect for new business opportunities
  • Network with local business in an effort to acquire sales leads
  • Maintain a prospect database and track new sales leads
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly report to the Director as a way of monitoring own job performance
  • Actively pursue new targets for Champions Club and Media Center rental.
  • Main point person for any non-race weekend paid Champions Club and Media Center rental
  • Coordinate with operations department on facility rentals ensuring customer needs are met
  • Track all individual sales personally as a guidance for own personal job performance
  • Build relationships to provide referrals and repeat business
  • Recognize future sales opportunities
  • Development of creative programs to target specific community organizations for groups
  • Set appointments, show seats, and give track tours with the intent to close business
  • Represent the track at various community events, such as festivals, sporting events, etc. with the responsibility of informing the community about the track, and marketing ticket sales packages and promotions
  • Answer incoming single game calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, groups, and premium seating opportunities
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and at games Work races and events on nights, weekends and holidays as assigned (i.e. answer phones, work sales booths, visit clients)
  • Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, tickets, etc…)
  • Attend weekly sales meetings
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Americrown is currently seeking Experienced Banquet Captains to work at 11 of International Speedway Corporation’s Speedways: Auto Club Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead Miami Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway, Richmond International Raceway, Talladega Super Speedway, and Watkins Glen International.

Applicants must have reliable transportation; pass a background, credit, and driver’s license check; be prompt; be highly motivated; and most importantly be hospitality minded.

Experience:

  • Prior food service and supervisory experience required (preferably in a stadium or arena)
  • Previous cash handling and bartending experience preferred
  • Food handler and/or alcohol safety certification a plus; course work in hospitality management a plus

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up, maintain and breakdown hospitality suites and chalets. Ensuring your locations are stocked, clean, safe, and that all equipment is working properly. Ensure that all food/beverage items are presented and served correctly. Perform closing duties including but not limited to discarding unconsumed food; repacking paper, equipment and beverage trucks; inventories.
  • Train and supervise “pit crew” team members. This position requires strong time management skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs throughout your entire shift
  • Constant bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive motions.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is a world-class motorsports facility located just south of Miami in tropical South Florida. The Speedway is the home of Ford Championship Weekend, the season-finales for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, as well as the Grand Prix of Miami Grand-Am sports car event weekend. In addition to these major spectator events, the Speedway is active more than 260 days per year with multiple forms of racing, testing, track rentals, driving schools, and community events.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is hiring a Manager of Hispanic Marketing to promote motorsports, and specifically NASCAR racing to audiences locally, regionally and nationally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities for the Manager of Hispanic Marketing position include:
• Developing a short and long term marketing plans for the Hispanic community.
• Coordinating marketing and advertising campaigns within a strict budget.
• Identifying, coordinating and implementing promotions with track and event sponsors.
• Supporting the Speedway’s overall marketing campaigns.
• Oversee creation of Spanish-language collateral including posters, ticket brochures, postcards, etc.
• Determining target Hispanic markets and choosing the proper media to reach them. Generate new and creative ideas to attract and promote the Speedway.
• Developing promotional relationships with Hispanic radio/TV stations to improve on-air/in-market consumer promotions.
• Creating Hispanic Fan Development strategies throughout the calendar year

• Participating and networking within the Hispanic community and industry. Get involved in industry related associations and community organizations.
• Creating and administering the delivery of brand-specific e-newsletters to Hispanic community.
• Coordinating Web site content, editorial and press release development and mailings to Hispanic community.

Manager, Corporate Partnerships - Homestead Miami Speedway (Homestead, Fl)

  • Plan, implement, and go to market with the sales of HMS/ISC inventory including sponsorships, displays, and hospitality packages including chalets, suites, fan hospitality, and other revenue generating opportunities.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all on-site sponsor and corporate customer requirements, meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Assist in the planning and development of, in accordance with budget guidelines, a local and regional sales and marketing plan for event related activities at HMS. Such activities shall include, but not limited to, event sponsorships, promotional partnerships, displays, and group sales packages including chalets, suites, fan hospitality, tour buses, and other revenue generating opportunities as well as promotions, public relations, and advertising.
  • Develop, market, and sell premium corporate entertainment and sponsorship packages, event admissions, and on-site display areas to national, regional and local companies. Build and cultivate an ongoing “pipeline” of corporate contacts and potential sponsors. Maintain and update an accurate corporate customer database with all pertinent information.
  • Coordinate, implement, and manage, with the Director, the renewal process for corporate customers. Process includes, but is not limited to, development of correspondence, information included in packet, and tracking process with follow-up plan.
  • Coordinate and manage, all elements of pre-event corporate entertainment planning including securing all necessary support staffing on event weekends, securing source of tents, tables, chairs, decorations etc., menu distribution, selection and upgrading of decorations/ambiance in hospitality areas, in accordance with budget guidelines, etc. Communicate all appropriate requirements to support hospitality activities to various vendors, HMS staff, and Americrown.
  • Work with Manager, Corporate Partnerships, the assembly and distribution of corporate information packages, Fan Guides, handbooks, passes, tickets, and all other necessary information and materials to corporate customers in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Oversee and manage facets of corporate entertainment on race weekends. Coordinate and manage staff including interns, and volunteers, including Americrown and other vendors required to ensure that mutually agreed to, or contractually specified, obligations to the customer are performed at a level that meets or exceeds customer expectations. During race events, be available for the customers for questions, additional requests, etc.
  • Deliver superior customer service to ensure client satisfaction in all facets of a business relationship process from initial prospecting to fulfillment and follow up. Practice accurate and timely distribution with other departments (i.e. Operations, Americrown, ticket office, and Accounting) to ensure the fulfillment of all HMS obligations. With the Accounting Department, maintain accurate records with regards to invoicing and payment by customers.
  • Work to lower expenses, improve efficiencies and grow margins within the Marketing & Sales budget without sacrificing sales and customer service.
  • In accordance with budget guidelines, and in conjunction with other HMS departments, develop enhancements that will significantly increase the overall guest experience.
  • With the objective of delivering exclusive attention to, and creating a first class experience for our sponsors and partners, provide excellent customer service to our corporate customers in a manner consistent with meeting/exceeding expectations. Have an understanding and complete knowledge of all corporate customer activities prior to and during race events. Serve as a customer representative, as needed, to affect timely completion of all track obligations and to coordinate the delivery and distribution of all benefits during events.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be creative, a self-starter, highly motivated, organized and a team player with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task. Candidate is expected to bring a positive attitude to the workplace, to be cheerful, engaging, cooperative and productive, and to perform additional duties as required for the efficient operations of the Speedway.

  • Four-year degree in business or communications from an accredited college/university.
  • Preferably 2-3 years experience in business development of an organization, preferably within sports or entertainment.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database programs within a windows environment.
  • Strong internal/external customer relations and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic financial skills on a task, project, and processes basis.
  • Consultative sales style, prospecting skills, and a desire to identify new business opportunities.
