Guest Services Intern - Homestead-Miami Speedway (Homestead, FL)

Homestead-Miami Speedway is looking for interns to support our Guest Services Department.  The interns will assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising event volunteers/staff working Guest Services areas during our events. These areas are Ushers, RV Lot Ambassadors, Information Centers, Gate/Grounds Greeters, Tram Services and Disabled Transportation Assistance.  Guest Services management will assign the following duties:  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Non-event days:
• Assist with the coordination of new volunteers/civic groups/staff hiring and orientation
• Assist with maintaining the proper paperwork (contracts, insurance, check requests)
• Participate in pre- event trainings
• Prepare and distribute training materials
• Work with the scheduling staff
• Learn and use scheduling software database
• Assist in preparing and distributing schedules to event volunteers/staff
• Help with the scheduling of and interaction with civic groups

Event day duties:
• Assist with guest services check-in/check-out on event days, issuing uniforms and credentials
• Assist with guest issues and complaints
• Interact with guests to understand their outlook on the events and relay information to management
• Interact with event day staff, assist them with their tasks, learn from their experience, and work with
   management to further event volunteer/staff satisfaction
• Provide support to and assist department managers

Qualifications include the following:
Successful candidates will be creative, self-starters, highly motivated, organized and team players with attention to detail and demonstrate ability to multi-task. Candidates are expected to bring a positive attitude to the workplace, to be cheerful, engaging, cooperative and productive, and to perform additional duties as required for the efficient operations of the Speedway.

• Currently pursuing a degree in a related field (event management, hospitality, etc.)
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Strong in-person and phone communication skills, ability to present information clearly and concisely
• Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel etc.)
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Possess a Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Must be 18 years of age

Compensation: Florida minimum wage (currently $8.05/hour)

Homestead-Miami Speedway is a world-class motorsports facility located just south of Miami in tropical South Florida. The Speedway is the home of Ford Championship Weekend, the season-finales for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series.   In addition to these major spectator events, the Speedway is active more than 260 days per year with multiple forms of racing, testing, track rentals, driving schools, and community events.

Manager, Digital Marketing - Homestead-Miami Speedway (Homestead, FL)


Homestead-Miami Speedway is hiring a Manager of Digital Marketing to promote motorsports, and specifically NASCAR racing to audiences locally and nationally.


Responsibilities for the Manager of Digital Marketing position include:

  • Developing a short and long term marketing plan for all of Homestead-Miami Speedway’s digital channels.
  • Coordinating digital marketing and advertising campaigns within a strict budget.
  • Manage all aspects of Homestead-Miami Speedway’s CRM activities.
  • Manage all of Homestead-Miami Speedway’s social media channels.
  • Manage the website and mobile website
  • Manage the mobile application
  • Seek out upcoming and new social media channels to drive the brand forward.
  • Supporting the Speedway’s overall marketing campaigns.
  • Participating and networking within the digital industry. Get involved in industry related associations and organizations.
  • Manage pre-race activities.
  • Manage the fan experience elements on race weekend (over arching “leadership” of experience based items on race weekend including but not limited to leaderboard, PA announcers, and text messaging system)
  • Identifying and maintaining contact with potential and existing customers as required.
  • Understanding and supporting the company's sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers.
  • Generate new and creative ideas to attract and promote the Speedway.
  • Providing superior care and service to internal and external customers.
  • Performing quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interacting professionally with other employees, customers and vendors.
  • Working effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Working independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing.


  • College bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects, and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment.
  • Self-starter, career-orientated professional.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports.
  •  Proven written and presentation skills.
  •  Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  •  Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights and holidays.
  •  Minimum 3+ Years experience in marketing, public relations, sports management, communications preferred.
  •  Bilingual preferred

Marketing & Communications Internship - Homestead-Miami Speedway (Homestead, FL)

HMS is searching for enthusiastic, outgoing, and hard-working interns for the marketing and communications department.


  • Assist the marketing and communications team with extensive activities including (but not limited to)in-market promotions, advertising, media promotions, ticket sales, event marketing, grassroots marketing, digital media, community relations, youth marketing, and creative.

  • Assist the Media Relations team with press releases, driver in-market events, and various communications projects.

  • Assist with event management during Ford Championship Weekend at Speedway (to include media center, press box, TV and radio broadcasts), as well as media-specific programs (press conferences, special events, etc.).

  • Position will also help with weekend marketing initiatives including the Ford Championship Weekend Pre-Race shows.


  • The ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays if necessary

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must be available for community event weekends throughout the duration of the internship

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Able to stand for multiple hours a day

Desired Qualifications:

  • Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Sports Administration or Sports Management majors preferred. 

  • Journalism: excellent writing skills; familiarity with AP Style (will be expected to author/assist with feature stories, press releases, website content and sales brochures)

  • Knowledge of the automotive and motorsports industries a plus.

  • Bilingual candidate a plus.

  • Ability to drive manual transmission a plus.

  • Ideal candidate will be professional, timely, organized, detail orientated, dependable, hard-working, and willing to learn.

Schedule & Pay:

  • Approximately 30-40 hours a week, excluding major event weekends.

  • Approximate Internship Start Date/ End Date:  August 1 to December 1
