Digital Content Coordinator - Michigan International Speedway (Brooklyn, MI)

SUMMARY
The DIGITAL CONTENT COORDINATOR is responsible for providing support to the Communications Department. The person in this role is integrated with the rest of the Communications Team, telling the MIS story and sharing its brand by creating engaging content to drive ticket sales and awareness, spark conversation and provide a value for promotional partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  1. All video production including filming and editing of videos.
    • Podcasts
    • News pieces – raw footage and pre-packaged pieces for distribution to media
    • Look for new avenues for video
  2. Responsible for all photography
    • Working with MIS photographers during NASCAR events, track events, etc.
  3.  In charge of all social networking – Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Snapchat, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest, Flickr and others
    • Develop opportunities to market to fans via social avenues
    • Track ROI for all opportunities
    • Recommend new avenues for social networking and stay current on trends, changes in the space
    • Monitor all social platforms
    • Serve as community manager for all platforms
  4. Develop all video and photo content for all social platforms
  5. Implement a digital marketing calendar, ensuring it aligns with MIS’ marketing calendar
  6. Maintain MIS’ official website, www.MISpeedway.com, and its mobile website
  7. Other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required including proficiency in all forms of social media – Facebook, Twitter, and others. The digital media coordinator must also understand and know how to operate the speedway’s scoreboard. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College degree, and at least three years related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
