Americrown is currently seeking Experienced Banquet Captains to work at 11 of International Speedway Corporation’s Speedways: Auto Club Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead Miami Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway, Richmond International Raceway, Talladega Super Speedway, and Watkins Glen International.

Applicants must have reliable transportation; pass a background, credit, and driver’s license check; be prompt; be highly motivated; and most importantly be hospitality minded.

Experience:

  • Prior food service and supervisory experience required (preferably in a stadium or arena)
  • Previous cash handling and bartending experience preferred
  • Food handler and/or alcohol safety certification a plus; course work in hospitality management a plus

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up, maintain and breakdown hospitality suites and chalets. Ensuring your locations are stocked, clean, safe, and that all equipment is working properly. Ensure that all food/beverage items are presented and served correctly. Perform closing duties including but not limited to discarding unconsumed food; repacking paper, equipment and beverage trucks; inventories.
  • Train and supervise “pit crew” team members. This position requires strong time management skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs throughout your entire shift
  • Constant bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive motions.
  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Consumer Marketing Intern - Talladega Superspeedway (Talladega, AL)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Consumer Marketing Intern will learn the intricacies of the Talladega Superspeedway Consumer Marketing Department while strengthening his or her own professional attributes.    To participate in this internship, students must be able to receive credit from their college or university.

 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and develop new marketing ideas to expand current brand initiatives
  • Engage with fans and oversee data cultivation at off-site events
  • Create new fan initiatives to enhance consumer images throughout local communities
  • Assist Consumer Marketing & Ticketing staff with day-to-day operations
  • Play key role in research and evaluation of sports marketing to identify potential opportunities to increase Talladega Superspeedway brand exposure and ticket sales
  • Prepare for all promotional events, including gathering collateral, giveaway items, and displays
  • Cultivate ways to improve the fan experience using digital & social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, etc…)
  • Strategize with CM team on ways to better engage with the GenY audience
  • Assist with college ambassador communication
  • Other duties as assigned by Consumer Marketing & Ticketing leadership team

Summary:
Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining business continuity for assigned responsibilities in accounting and support to departments through-out the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile general ledger accounts on monthly basis.
• Perform business analysis utilizing multiple systems and spreadsheets.
• Prepare general ledger entries and accruals for month end close.
• Process Cash Receipts/Billing/Account Payable.
• Work with the various Speedway departments in supporting accounting processes.
• Special projects as assigned by Director of Accounting.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and 2-3 years of related work experience in the accounting field (accounts payable/accounts receivable and General Ledger) or Associates Degree and 3-5 years of work experience.
• Public company experience and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley is a plus.
• Must display knowledge and experience of applying accounting principles, including GAAP.

The successful applicant will be very detail-oriented, able to work in fast paced environment, possess excellent written communication skills, and an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with PeopleSoft is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible for the sale of Spring & Fall Race Tickets with three main focus areas to include:  Renewal Customers, New Business, and Groups
  • Responsible for making a high level of cold calls (75+ calls per day) to generate new business ticket revenue for Talladega Superspeedway
  • Make calls to past customers, cold call new leads from database generation and qualified business leads, and handle some incoming calls
  • Provide customers with superior service in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales data to effectively communicate to executive team
  • Participate and contribute to weekly sales team meetings and training sessions.
  • Responsible for assisting in the renewal and maintenance of all accounts
  • Will be required to work outside events including promotional functions, race week responsibilities, and weekends
  • Other Duties as assigned by Director of Ticketing and Ticket Operations Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in sales and cold-calling is preferred but not a requirement
  • Self starter, career oriented professional
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports is required
