Americrown is currently seeking Experienced Banquet Captains to work at 11 of International Speedway Corporation’s Speedways: Auto Club Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead Miami Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway, Richmond International Raceway, Talladega Super Speedway, and Watkins Glen International.

Applicants must have reliable transportation; pass a background, credit, and driver’s license check; be prompt; be highly motivated; and most importantly be hospitality minded.

Experience:

  • Prior food service and supervisory experience required (preferably in a stadium or arena)
  • Previous cash handling and bartending experience preferred
  • Food handler and/or alcohol safety certification a plus; course work in hospitality management a plus

Essential Functions: 

  • Set-up, maintain and breakdown hospitality suites and chalets. Ensuring your locations are stocked, clean, safe, and that all equipment is working properly. Ensure that all food/beverage items are presented and served correctly. Perform closing duties including but not limited to discarding unconsumed food; repacking paper, equipment and beverage trucks; inventories. 
  • Train and supervise “pit crew” team members. This position requires strong time management skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs throughout your entire shift
  • Constant bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive motions. 
  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Food, Beverage and Merchandise Manager - Americrown Service Corporation (Watkins Glen, NY)

 

 

 

Summary:

Based at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York, the food, beverage and merchandise manager is responsible for the effective leadership of venue operations including event planning, promotion, menu planning, inventory control standards, compliance with alcohol service policies, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer recruitment, training and supervision. Venue manager oversees the operations of Premium, Concession and Merchandise during event and non-event periods. Partner with business unit leadership to manage operations and marketing strategies to increase revenues and guest satisfaction while providing financial analysis, streamlining operations and effectively managing costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong Leadership, Management, Planning and Coaching Skills
  • Staffing - proper staffing levels; setting goals and expectations and training
  • Ability to drive consistency and strategic and innovative initiatives
  • Work with the management staff to identify and evaluate strategies
  • Monitor all event activity to ensure proper planning and execution for events
  • Execute food and beverage policies and procedures
  • Continue education on Tips Training Programs, safety programs and the Department of Health's regulation as they apply to food service handling
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate on various levels to include Senior Management, BU Management, Marketing, Community Leaders, customer and sponsors.
  • Proficient computer skills to include various internal programs, Microsoft Office programs, email and internet
  • P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience
  • Exceptional fiscal management skills including financial analysis, budget creation, forecasting, labor and inventory control and P&L oversight
     

Qualifications/Education Requirements:
This position requires at least 5 years of experience successfully managing venues in sports and entertainment, theme park or similar environment. Experience managing in a fast-paced environment with focus on providing innovative hospitality, high quality food and beverage services as well as experience in retail merchandise within a venue. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, planning, and organizational abilities. Candidates should be able to work independently, multi-task, solve problems, and collaborate with other staff at all levels. Candidates must demonstrate excellent skills in verbal and written communication.

Watkins Glen International is seeking enthusiastic professionals with customer service experience to assist with gate operations during 2014 event weekends. Applicants must be friendly, reliable, highly motivated, and a team player with the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and guests entering the facility

General Description: The Group Sales Intern will assist in increasing attendance and incremental revenue for most 2014 major events, including the Cheez It™ 355 NASCAR Weekend, through outbound phone calls, direct mail and promotional marketing campaigns.

Duties:

  • Renew and upgrade existing ticket customers
  • Conduct telephone campaigns to acquire new business ticket sales
  • Develop and promote employee group sales opportunities
  • Assist with ongoing promotions and giveaways associated with upcoming event weekends
  • Provide quality customer service for existing customers
  • Support community programs that WGI is involved with
  • Assist the sales department with tasks during major event weekends

Qualifications:

The Marketing & Promotions Manager will play a key role in the promotion of Watkins Glen International through various mediums including social media, advertising and grass roots efforts.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote racing events and festivals at Watkins Glen International by developing a pace car and show car tour throughout the summer targeting high attendance events.
  • Research and book bands for race and festival weekends & facilitate staging requirements.
