General Description: The Business Partnership Associate will assist the Sr. Manager of Business Partnerships with day-to-day operations for most 2016 major events, including the Cheez-It™ 355 NASCAR Weekend

Duties:

  • ? Manage the Fan Ambassador program; including scheduling, training and social media interactions
  • ? Assist display partners during all major event weekends
  • ? Support the Sr. Manager of Business Partnerships with day-to-day operations
  • ? Assist with ongoing promotions and giveaways associated with upcoming event weekends
  • ? Provide quality customer service for existing customers
  • ? Support community programs that WGI is involved with
  • ? Assist the sales department with tasks during major event weekends

Qualifications:

  • ? Two years completed towards a Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or Sport
         Management Degree
  • ? Customer service experience (retail, direct, corporate) is helpful
  • ? PC literate and strong organizational skills
  • ? Possess ability to demonstrate exceptional guest service skills
  • ? Able to work non traditional hours occasionally (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • ? Must be able to work ALL major event weekends* including the Sahlen’s Six Hours of 
         The Glen, Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy, and Cheez-It™355
         NASCAR Weekend at The Glen

General Description: The Group Sales Specialist will assist in increasing attendance and incremental revenue for most 2017 major events, including the NASCAR Weekend, through outbound phone calls, direct mail and promotional marketing campaigns.

Duties:

  • Manage group and corporate account partners
  • Renew and upgrade existing ticket customers
  • Conduct telephone campaigns to acquire new business ticket sales

Facility Operations/Security: Maintenance
Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations - Watkins Glen International (Watkins Glen, NY)

General Job Description

As a successful Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations, your main responsibility is to assist in providing general maintenance and upkeep of facility and grounds, under the direct supervision of the Director of Track Operations, Director of Event Operations and Vice President of Facilities and Operations, in an effort to keep it in paramount conditions.

As our Senior Manager - Maintenance & Operations, you will:

  • Oversight and coordinate workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, paint and other building systems.

  • Responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed.

  • Prepare work details and contractor oversight for capital improvement construction projects.

  • Work hand in hand with Vice President of Facilities and Operations to prepare maintenance budgets and spend within those approved budgets.

  • Hire workers, organize schedules and assign daily work activity. 

  • Perform training to ensure individuals have all requisite skills.

  • Work with Security Manager to ensure that WGI / ISC assets (tools, equipment, etc) are being properly accounted for.

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures on equipment in order to keep it in the best condition possible.

  • Manage Projects including both capital improvement and in-house projects.

  • Maintain personnel records and assist in annual performance reviews.

  • Assist in overseeing and scheduling of Event Staff and Stand-By Service Vendors.

Qualifications:

We require:

  • High School Diploma plus at least two years’ experience (or equivalent training) in general maintenance, with knowledge in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, mechanics and general building repairs.

  • Experience in working in a similar atmosphere (stadium, racetrack or other fast-paced entertainment venue)

  • Some experience operating heavy equipment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • High degree of initiative and know-how to organize/prioritize, and ability to see projects through to completion.

  • Ability to be held accountable, following through on commitments, producing timely work to required standards, and pitching in to complete task

  • Good computer skills, including MS Office

  • Price of workmanship, strong communication skills; excellent service attitude

  • Basic knowledge of building codes, construction practices, OSHA requirements and paving / concrete maintenance / upkeep

Special Physical Requirements of the Job/Working Conditions:

  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires – this person is often the first one in to start the day and the last to leave at the end of the day.

  • Ability to lift 50# or more.

  • Routine exposure to extreme heat/cold and loud noise conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work on various lift/platforms at various heights and in confined spaces.
